Thanks for sharing Vince, I remember getting that magazine in the mid 80’s.
  • I have this magazine, my grandfather bought me this when it first came out.

Love the old sports zines too Vince. In fact, I’ve picked up 12-14 SPORT & SPORTS ILLUSTRATED mags recently dating back to 1949 with Hal Newhouser on the cover.
  • I was JUST going through my old issues of BBC Magazine this past week! I read that magazine from 1984 to 1991 as a kid. You mentioned the ad from Blue Chip Sportcards in NY. That was my LCS! I remember buying the Donruss factory sets there in the mid 80s. Used to get my Topps and Fleer traded sets there too. Sadly, I missed out on buying the 84 Fleer update set for whatever unfortunate reason. I think it was only $12 at the time.

I have this also in my collection. Great mag & blast from the blast
  • Thanks for the look down memory lane. I still have that issue, but haven't looked at it for a very long time. It's fun to look back and see the prices and philosophies of the hobby back then.

We used to get Collectors Sports Look, Legends, Beckett, SCD and Tuff Stuff I had a few of these from the late 1990s.

I have that magazine along with several other early issues! So much fun to look through! I think issue 2 or 3 has an insert with a reprint T206 set in it!

SCD is still around. I get their newsletter every week by email. I remember when it was a 240 page newspaper. The size shrunk and it is like 80 pages every other week. Good memories Vin. I like your card videos.
