Iruel's Badass Boast.wmv

Published 2010-04-13
My version of Iruel's Badass Boast from Nobody Dies.

I recorded the boast four times, each in a different voice, before adding the echo.

Again, I am Machina Ex Deus on spacebattles, and I hope you liked this.

(The MP EVA pic at the end is because that's supposed to be how Iruel presents himself, while the rest of it is the picture of Iruel from NGE itself)

@zsedc4 At the time I recorded this, I hadn't heard "Sympathy for the Devil" yet. I know it now, though.

@iamnuff1992 I recorded each of the four voices individually, so the timing wasn't perfect. My gravelly voice was the one that was off where you noticed, but I wasn't really trying to match them up 'til "I am Legion."

That was only after the crew started encouraging Hugh, I believe they decided to name him. Had they not, he likely would have continued to say "we". It comes up again in Voyager, where Seven of Nine is separated from the collective and only starts referring to herself as I after Janeway and Co encourage her to do so.

The multi-voice kinda reminds me of the Borg... which fits since they are also many and Iruel is a bunch of tiny Angels making the big one.

nicely done, but you should have done the entire one. the lyrics from sympathy for the devil that the author used an a pre-intro.

He sounds like Agent Smith for some reason
  • Eeeeeh, while I see your point, that is not *entirely* correct-- the Borg Collective is just that, a *collective*; many, many minds, which function and act as one. By their very *nature*, there *are* no individuals. Hence Iruel's referring to himself as 'I' denoting that he is a single being, and therefore not like the Collective. In Star Trek TNG, it is shown as a sign that a former Borg drone has become separated from the Collective when it begins referring to itself as 'I' instead of 'we'.
