I used to go here with my family as a kid every summer; camped every time. I’ll never forget the magic that this place holds.

I think this experience is worth the money. I always wanted to go here just for the wild horses alone.

  • Thank you! Beautiful beach. I’m in Maryland and hope to come here. I looked this area up on Google and someone had commented dogs are not allowed as they irritate the horses. Thanks for confirming dogs are allowed. πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ˜Š

Just to clarify something - Assateague Island in Maryland is composed of two parks, Assateague Island National Seashore and Assateague State Park. There is camping in both parks, the national park has no sites with electric and the state park only has a few.

White sand, no sir. You need to go to Pensacola, FL, that is white sand!!!
  • Interested in how busy the campsites were and how far apart were the sites.

I’ll be going to Ocean City soon. Hope I get a chance to come here. Also, question. At the natural beach (where you walked up too) are you allowed to shift through the sand for sea shells/fossils? Or do they want you to leave it alone as much as possible?

Yes even our horses are gangsters. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The bayside has less bugs.
