Game of Thrones is a show that is dense with lore and backstory, even if it is only touched on every now and then. George R.R. Imagine how amazing it would have been to see all of this stuff that happened in the past on the show. Like what if they started from the beginning that would be amazing, and it would make the ending payoff much better as well.

The one thing that’s always bothered me is that Lyanna and Rhaegar could have prevented a lot of what happened in the rebellion by telling her family that she hadn’t been kidnapped.

Ehhh, I don't think the Children of the Forest inadvertently made the Night King - I think they knew what they were doing and he just became far more powerful than they imagined.
