Game of Thrones is a show that is dense with lore and backstory, even if it is only touched on every now and then. George R.R. Martin expands on it more in his books, and we’ve got the whole timeline spelled out for you, from the first actions of men recorded in Westeros to the events that directly set the pieces in place for the show.

There could still be plenty of references to it in the final season, so it can’t hurt to catch up on the history of Westeros. Here’s the explanation of the entire Game of Thrones timeline.

Fascinating how one human made up a story so well that millions recount it as if it's part of known history. Incredible.

DONT LET NIGHT KING'S DEATH DISTRACT YOU FROM THE FACT THAT THE HOUND HAD HIS NERVOUS BREAKDOWN

For everyone wondering, BC means Before Conquest, referring to Aegon's Conquest.

I'd like to take a moment of silence for my man, Sandor Clegane, Aka The hound. His life was a tragic and painful display of violence and revenge, as was his death.... But, as he would put it..... "At least I took the the big fooker with me." Sandor Clegane R. I. P. 🐺🐺🔥 🔥 🍻
  • I'd love to see them continue the series rather than a prequel. What did Aria find to the west? What became of the Wildlings with John Snow as King of the North? What became of that last dragon?

Imagine how amazing it would have been to see all of this stuff that happened in the past on the show. Like what if they started from the beginning that would be amazing, and it would make the ending payoff much better as well.

The one thing that’s always bothered me is that Lyanna and Rhaegar could have prevented a lot of what happened in the rebellion by telling her family that she hadn’t been kidnapped.
  • Insanely great description of the entire timeline in GoT! Nicely done!!

Ehhh, I don't think the Children of the Forest inadvertently made the Night King - I think they knew what they were doing and he just became far more powerful than they imagined.

You forgot the rebellion of the iron islands after Robert became king, why Theion lived with the Starks as a ward
  • Still hoping they bring back flashback moments this season. The flashback of Ned and Lyanna Stark was awesome!

Just a personal opinion, Melisandre is one of the best actors on this show
