Living Hope is one of my favorite songs of all time. Written by Phil Wickham in 2018. It was also played during my mom’s service. My mom passed away unexpectedly last year on January 16, 2023. Hard to believe that it has almost been a year. I still lived with my mom and we did everything together. We both played piano by ear and played together all the time. My mom played very well and had lessons growing up. I’ve had one major regret in life and that was not sticking with lessons. I hated recitals mostly and just wanted to play piano as an enjoyment. As a kid I thought I played well enough by ear and was satisfied with that. That satisfaction was short lived and I realized how valuable lessons would have been. Last summer I joined an online group to learn piano better and enhance what I could already do. I didn’t want the piano to become silent. I hope to honor my mom, grandma, great grandfather and all those before me who had the musical ear. Only one person out of each generation had the gift. What’s even more incredible is, I was born with a rare syndrome and hearing loss. Yet with correction I can hear music perfectly.
I am thinking about uploading a series of videos about my story. Little bits at a time. Let me know if you’re interested. If my story can encourage one person, that would be totally worth it. Though it would not be me, but it would be Jesus Christ speaking through me. I give God all the glory for what He has done in my life. I’ve had a very rough and painful journey but I’m able to get through each day with God’s strength carrying me through.
