About 29 yrs ago we had a huge family reunion at the lake. Back in the day we didn’t have amazing cooking channels like this, so I just winged it. I made up a BIG pot of Pepper Steak , I added a Large can of the Mexican pepper steak sauce in the blue can, and 2 different rices. I made a BIG pot of Yellow Rice and a BIG pot of Rice -a Roni. We put pepper steak on both rices and IH MY GOODNESS 😱 it was absolutely amazing. I haven’t made it in so long but seeing your delicious dish, I’m definitely in the mood. 😋🌹

That looks delicious! I had forgotten all about southern pepper steak. I can remember eating it when I was a child. I loved it then. Now I'm going to have my husband try his hand at making it. I have a different version of pepper steak but it's not southern style. It's delicious, as well. Thanks for a great memory and a new recipe.
