I do it a lot.

  • If the overthinking is keeping you from making your art, then it’s a problem. If the “overthinking” keeps you from being an “influencer,” then I think that’s just the right amount of thought that we need more of.
  • Joe, you are a voice of reason. There is a shortage of quiet contemplation in the world; please keep doing what you do. It is appreciated. Thank you!

Existential angst is a common trait of moral, ethical people... I guess that''s why I like your videos.

This is exactly why I watch you. I love a good ode. Well done, Joe, I’m sure many of us can relate.
  • I don't comment often. I am a baby boomer. I was a teenager in the 1960s. The big thing to do then was to get involved, make a difference, be socially aware, stand up for what you believe in. Now all of that is well and good but in the end, what are all those hippies doing now, the ones that lived that is. I guess some of them are still trying to make a difference but I think most of them just fell in to step with earning a living, raising a family and wondering what happened. I used to overthink everything. That is exhausting and nothing gets done. Once you learn to prioritize and do the thing that is the priority, stuff gets easier, clearer, and manageable. You can get so engrossed in everything around you that you can lose sight of what is important. When you have one of those "Ah Ha" moments, all the chaff just floats away. Now I don't know if what I have said even relates to what you were asking but, I'm a senior citizen and I just say what I like. LOL

Joe - You add to the world. You add knowledge and positiveness, and you have an easy, natural sincerity, which makes you trustworthy and likeable, and that is quite refreshing in this age of fake everything.

I feel your pain. Just be yourself. People who can't cope with that are not worth your time.

My brother's house got buried by tumbleweeds in the incident you were referring to. It was so funny. 😂

Honestly I’ve wrestled with the same mental gymnastics. Then one day I realized I was spending so much energy focused on what people thought of me or what I say. I decided to just focus that energy on trying to be as empathetic and compassionate as I could. Like you said. Making someone mad is easy, but empathy is hard. The out come is far more valuable though. Sorry for the long comment. :) if you read this then I’ll end with thank you. Your channel has brought me more joy and inspiration then you could ever know. Damn it. I made it longer.

"Performative outrage." Indeed! The REALLY, REALLY, REALLY asinine thing is that those people refuse to take into account what the "offender's" intent was. It should matter whether or not someone intended to be offensive, but sadly the overwhelming desire to be offended leaves no room for such rational, civil, mature behavior.

Most everyone loves a good yarn.... I can remember listening for hours of Jean Shepherd talking childhood memories way back in the early '60's.

Just wanted to say that YOU are one of the few content creators that I pay attention to when a notification comes up or when I check in on my subscriptions daily. You're not going after the algorithm in that cheap way. You care about posting things that have substance. You're NOT relying on AI to create your content! I trust you to be that and actually get excited to watch any new video post, whether on this channel or your other channels.

Same. I'm currently overthinking which body shop to use for hail damage repairs Thanks to this, I'm now planning to overthink overthinking next week 😅
  • @Azim196
This was beautiful. I feel a very similar way. Especially the rant of people thinking they are so... powerful?... by being "the bad guy", saying it like it is. Having tact, caring for other's feelings, and trying to word things in a way that resonates with someone rather than offends them is a true talent.

I get great pleasure from listening to you talk like this. Thank you. It's nice to listen to someone without hearing the phrase "and you won't believe what happened next"...exit to commercial.
  • @lanceperfect
Love you too, buddy. The human relatability was a big reason for following. Personally, I don't want anyone looking at me ever and scoff at the idea of making money on fame. But.I recognize people gotta eat and try to reward productive artistry. Please keep sharing.

Thank you Joe! I look forward to all of your videos and thoughts. I think you are a true gem in the sea of YouTube uniformity.

I hope we all can agree that society as a whole has become a lot more sensitive to things that we shouldn't be sensitive too.

Joe's new standard intro to the TMI channel is "So I haven't done one of these in a while..."
