turks: "we need 25,000 cavalry to win this battle" Christians: "80 Templar Knights have reinforced us, lets attack!"

Templars were almost always executed after being taken prisoner because they were an army and each of them was a Rollo, highly trained and deadly and feared, any win against them was luck or just insane shear number advantage. Long live the memory of the templars, the finest soldiers europe ever produced int he old times

This is awesome! Ive been obsessed with KT since I was a kid. These men were a different breed, unlike anything in history. Incredible yet, sad story overall but, it is fascinating.

The Knight Templars we’re definitely the special forces of their time. Awesome job as always
  • Seems weird... Gerard makes his way into the Templars, quickly becomes grandmaster. Then is one of only 3 survivors in a massacre... Then goes on to encourage another massacre. If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd be suspicious this guy was somehow working against the order. What a coincidence he managed to survive. What are the odds?
  • It is not hard to believe how truly hopeless Gerard of Ridefort was and and what an absolute disaster he was for Christendom.
  • I have always loved military history also history in general and a few years back I found out I was related to the second leader of the Templar knights Jacques De Molay.

In the southern regions of France, Richard Lionheart was nicknamed "Oc e Non" ("Yes and No" in Occitan language) for his supposed terseness. He spoke little, but was precise enormously.

So I got my genealogy done and this “Norman Family” is NOT hyperbole. I’m distant cousins with all these Norman heroes with a nice sprinkling of direct ancestors mixed in. William the Conqueror is likely in your family tree if you have Norman ancestry. He’s a direct ancestor to a massive number of Europeans alive today.

I only don't understand why D. Afonso Henriques I of Portugal is mentioned only once as he was a Knights Templar King. Whole of Portugal from Arcos the Valdevez (North) until Lisbon (Middle) was conquered by Afonso I of Portugal and his brothers of the Knights Templar. Portugal was created by the The Knights Templar and the first King of Portugal D. Afonso Henriques I was raised as a Knights Templar from a very Young age after his father had died.

When you fight for something you believe, God gives you strength, even to die properly, in glory
  • @garynewis8293
The crusaders were so brave like Spartans, such great fighters
  • The Knights Templar: their horses fought in battle too. The horses were trained to Bite & Kick etc. the enemy!

People need to think like this....not necessarily the fighting part , but the battlefield mind.
