I'm always searching for ways to speed up my animation process and Adobe Character Animator might be one of the best tools I've found yet. The lip syncing is the fastest I've ever seen and it's super accurate.

Character Animator is so awesome! Great to see your take on it. I love how each part of your character can be animated as separate tracks. So you can record your audio, then go back and record head movements, then adjust eye gaze, hand positions, etc. Makes it super flexible and you don't have to get it right on the first take. Also, I learned everything I know from Okay Samurai! :)
  • This is a pretty round about method. If you need a lot of speech done you should put your audio into premiere, use the transcription feature (make any corrections there), export an srt transcript file, then in Character Animator in that transcript field (click on your audio clip) click import and put the srt file there and you have your entire transcript there to analyze. That way is extremely accurate just leaves a few holes for you to do manually. For the sections that “failed” I play them back and just speak those couple words a few times then record it to get it close and tweak it. That gives you long mouth animations the fastest possible way.

Love seeing the shout out to Okay Samurai! Such an amazing channel for all sorts of tutorials on Animator! Great vid brad! I’m theory could you create all of the parts in procreate?

to my knowledge most twitch streamers with 2D characters that follow their movement use Live2D, which is a lot more complicated (might also be more advanced in some ways but I don't know), than Adobe Character Animator from what I'm seeing.
  • @RBKAfr95
this seems a lot easier then live 2d , hopefully with the stream tab u can use it to do vtubing , wolud love if u can teach us more into it
  • @GetMadz
Yes Yes Yes! Happy to see more people start using CH :]
  • I really want to use Character Animator. The ability to record and then alter the animations is something I wish a live2d software have. It would be so much better than the simple vtuber streaming stuff can offer. But Character Animator as an animation software is still very limited, I would really like more elements to work with and be creative about, full 360° eye-tracking is still missing. For now the work it does can only be used as a complimentary addition to videos instead of the main visual aspect of them. It really has potential to be great, but for now it's just not as good.

My sync issues resolved when I switched all audio input and output settings to 16bit, 48kHz mono. Lot of us have mismatched input and output values and CA has to resample on the fly — which causes sync drift and other oddities. Live mic sessions don’t have this problem cuz it’s not looking ahead as it does for recorded files.

I’m sure someone has already said this, but for longer dialogue you could also utilise Premiere Pros auto transcript feature to avoid having to type it all out too. Hopefully that will come to CH eventually too, since that makes the most sense.
  • I found you through your other channel, I was looking for some drawing for my daughter, 10. She really enjoyed the video.

This actually seems pretty good, I can see alot of people like youtubers and streamers getting into this. But it would be interesting to see actual "shows" adopt this tech with their actors. The shows that use rigged based animations. I'm just wondering does it capture the whole body? In this you only had a medium shot of yourself. Also are you able to just import videos instead having to record?

Brad I feel like you're going to be an awesome VTuber.

It's crazy because I recently just made an animation for the first time while learning after effects for the first time and this is the first time hearing about this. It definitely looks good especially how fast it is. I think with some letters it does close the mouth, I think that might be with rigging though. I definitely look forward to using this though it saves so much time.
  • it also comes with the photography package, which is basically photoshop and lightroom. I honestly have no idea why they put this in there, but im glad they have, it looks super useful - if i wanted to animate
  • @CoconutJustice
DUDE! Character Animator is really cool! They hired me to design a character for Puppet Maker.
  • @sabkic
hey thank you very much 😁😁
  • @Adventures_EC
Moho .. do Moho for us. I think you didn't do it before

I'm glad to see you finally trying this piece of software. I'm thinking about integrating it into my tutorials since I don't put my face out there.
