Boba Fett is NOT wearing Jangos Armor

Published 2023-03-20
Today i want to discuss my theory on why Boba is not wearing a repainted version of Jangos silver and blue armor, which many fans tend to believe after The Mandalorian Season 2.

  • seriously doubt Boba Fett blew up his father's helmet in the Clone Wars. First off, the Mandalorian Iron would not have exploded like that. Second off, it was a cherished possession. It was most definitely a replica.

For years I always believed that Boba Fett was wearing Jango Fett's Civil War armour because not only do they both share the same colours and "thinner looks." But also it explains the weathered and worn-out look that the armour has during the Original Trilogy when we first meet Boba Fett.

Lucas literally said that it is, its in Jango's armor featurette

There was a comic that said it one point he wanted to serve the same mandalorians his father did and became a grunt and had his armor painted the way it was. But he also got married during that time and his commander raped his wife. Boba killed him and burnt down that organization. His wife left him because he was a mandalorian outcast. But he wears the symbols and armor colors as a reminder. That's also why when jabba gives leia to him in rotj he treats her with respect. He protects her from rape and gives her his bed. Boba fett is the true goat.

I was always under the impression that Boba's armor was Jaster Mereel's armor that Jango had kept.
  • Would be cool if boba referenced his experience working with Darth vader in the series

darth vaders saber is a different hilt in rotj than in all the og trilogies. Along with lukes blue light saber being different aswell. They made visual chamges in the prequals that are nothing more than visual and do not have a canon explanation

Personally, I would like a Jango Fett movie (basically based on the bounty hunter game haha).

3:57 Really ? How do you explain the orbital bombardment on the Razor Crest , and the Beskar staff as not a single dent ?
  • @Haseo55
I can agree with this. If I may add a little to it. The second armor Jango got that became silver and blue. It may have been Jastet's armor who was passed to him. I wish they explained the Mandalorian civil wars more. In canon we only had two sides. The new mandalorians and Death watch. Open season had those 2 plut the true mandalorians. Yet The Mandalorian implied there were even more factions to which I belive Jango belong. My guess is that the true slipt was the peaceful new mandalorians and warrior clans The Watch who in turned had different factions:Death watch, children of the watch and what ever group Jango belonged to. Yet in both clone wars and rebels we are only introduced to Death Watch mandalorians.
  • the part where your saying that the armour is an older 1 from jango grunt days make valid sense and remember jango would end up with 3 armour his biological father was a journey man protector n they wear bescar also so that's 1 plus his personal 1 before jastor died n then jastors own armour
  • I think it's possible that he had several suits of armor. A mixture of pieces he accumulated over time. I think when Fett was younger in legends , he possibly used a suit from jaster mereel when he was a journeyman and used his name as an alias (esb). Also, Jango's early set during the mandalorian civil war (rotj). I think it's possible that he could have used jangos silver and blue in his early career and retired it make his own suit. To have it restored and kept in honor of him. Rarely using it.

I don't get why this theory is so popular when the comic that is heavily referenced also shows it was repainted silver and blue by the thief. So if it was clearly repainted then why believe there were 2 sets of armor? I personally think it's the same armor with the exception of the helmet which was either replaced or repaired after used in the attempted assassination of Mace.
  • Dave Filoni said we would have seen how the green armor was made, were the green yellow and red came from. I’m guessing he mined for some of the armor, while the rest of it was bits and pieces off of, Mauls mando super commandos. The jango fett helmet piece that Mace picked up was probably fused with more beskar to form boba’s helmet. I think the green armor was made to look like Jasters, but I thimk Boba’s fetts armor is mode of several different pieces. I think he pieced his fathers armor together during the canceled clone wars arc, finding the armor pieces from from people that knew his father, like retired bounty hunters. Cad Bane himself had mando gauntlets.

this is a great theory for something that’s ate at me for so long
  • @theslayer8071
Also keep in mind that as sets of armor get handed down, they also get reforged to fit the new user. So it's possible Boba simple melted down Jango's armor and reforged it to his needs
  • @RogueJedi501
I always figured the top coat rusted and that’s why it turned green lol
