I thought the new iPad Air was going to be just another boring iPad upgrade with less features than my old iPad Pro, however, I was pleasantly surprised in a few areas where the Air actually turned out to be a nicer experience... and others where I missed my Pro...

God am I sick of “DON’T BE FOOLED!”, “DON’T CHOOSE WRONG!” and “DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!” thumbnails. They probably get engagement but man, is it tiresome. Edit: Greg makes awesome content and I’ve been a subscriber for years.

Bought the 13" Air today and I love it. I use mine for online school, gaming, streaming movies, streaming podcasts, listening to music, and reading. I don't use any keyboard or the Apple Pencil. 3 things that I really like are the speed, battery life, and light weight. 2 things I don't like are Touch ID and the speakers. I have basically solved the speakers issue by using my AirPods or a Bluetooth speaker. Touch ID is just going to take getting used to. The iPad Pro is a better tablet overall but the Air is the better value for the price

Upgraded my wife’s M1 Air with the 11” M2 Air since she loves Procreate and was intrigued by the new Apple Pencil Pro features. She didn’t want the 13” model since it would be too big for using it in bed or traveling. She gave me her M1 Air and as someone whose never had one before I am liking it. I’m a screen snob and we have all OLED LG TVs in our house but the LCDs Apple uses are pretty good. Aside from really dark scenes I think even the M1 Air is great for basic stuff and media consumption. I think a lot of people would be served well by saving money on the older model if they don’t have to have the fancy new Apple Pencil.
  • I was upgrading from my 2018 11 inch iPad Pro, so I wanted the CPU boost with the m2. Decided on the 13 inch air versus the 11 inch. Arrives tomorrow!

Saving up for this OLED M4 bad boy, right now using the A12Z ipad pro

I went to apple and looked at the pro 11 versus air 11. The pro is not worth 400 more. Save your money and get the air

Just picked up the 10. I do see ur point on screen size and performance value ratio🤔

I have an iPad mini 5. I have enjoyed the small form factor but the 11 inch Air would be more capable especially for multitasking and with smaller bezels only a bit bigger in the hand. The relatively good price makes an upgrade tempting.

Do all Apple Pencil Pro functions work on there or is there something withold for iPad Pro users? Also if you want a little cheaper Apple Pencil for this I think it supports the USB-C model (the Pro for some reason doesn't). Yeah that the key board for this does not have function keys is a bumber specially if you consider that the one of the regular iPad does. That said I am not in the tablet market and I am more of an Andriod guy but I played with the configuration of this iPad more then with that of the Pro. Also you can upgrade this thing to a decent storage option (512 GB or more) without paying a ton (it is still a lot but not so much as for the Pro or Macs right?).

The new pencil and features alone is enough to get digital artists to consider upgrading to either the M2 Air or Pro. For artists on a budget, starting with the M2 Air is a really compelling package. I'm a visualy impaired digital artist who's been using the 8th gen basic and First Gen pencil. Now I have the option the large screen plus enhanced haptic feedback, all with VoiceOve and full screen magnifyr for accessibility.. I've already started saving, and now working on ways to reach that goal faster!

Apple: Removes Apple stickers for environmental reasons Also Apple: Sells three different kinds of Keyboards and lithium ion Apple Pencils.

I just got Purple Air 13 inch delivered. I have to say I am happy with it overall. This Air now allows you to have a 13 inch iPad without having to pay for Pro. Like you said, 60hz screen is better than I expected. 2 speaker audio is pretty decent. Finger print sensor does not bother me. I picked up a 3rd party Magic Keyboard imitator at $79 and it works well enough. I have a 3rd party cheap pencil that works with this iPad Air and that is fine. I just need it to sign document and do some rudimentary pointing and drawing. I am glad I did not go for the Pro.

Must everyone always use apple branded accessories? My old Logitech Crayon with lightning port works perfectly with new M2 Air.

I have the iPad Pro 12.9 inch with the M1 Processor. I probably won't get another iPad until this one can no longer receive the latest iPadOS or if the Battery no longer supplies a decent length of power.

I ordered the 2024 iPad Pro 11. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I picked the 13” iPad Air yesterday and I love it. It was worth wanting for, coming from an iPad 6! I wanted a wow factor and got it without that high price of the pro model.
  • Just picked mine up yesterday, I got the Air 13". So far I love it my old Air is still great but I wanted a bigger screen for drawing. I think for me the pro would have been too much for what I really need it for.

I have a 2018 12.9 (battery issues) and a 2021 M1 12.9 Pro--not upgrading this year but really interested in the 12.9 Air. In another year or so when I upgrade, think the 12.9 Air will be sufficient (use a Pencil and Magic keyboard so an upgrade of those too). I listen to Ipad with airpods or earphones so speaker doesn't make any difference either. Lack of face ID will be annoying but for the difference in price--expect I can get used to it--and in a year or so--they may change that too in the Air.
