I now know why Rzeznik has vocal nodules- the chorus of this song! Singing this song every night in front of thousands of people on little or no sleep- what a tough life :). To understand the song, you have to know where it comes from- he lost his dad to alcohol related disease when he was 14, and his mom a year later to a heart attack. Previous experiences color future expectations, and when that experience met with a major motion picture he saw... the song was born. I was fooling with one of my songs that is nearing completion when I got this idea to start matching up chords to parts of the song and filling in the blanks with some new chords... this is what happened. Dif chords, dif tuning,(he uses some weird open tuning) SAME KEY. I lost my pillow. OK, just making sure you were bored enough to read all of that. Enjoy this masterpiece by the Doo Doo Gauze.

@AtariMaxiToriyama haha you are correct! :) i was sort of joking when i said the chorus of the song gave him nodules, you can definitely hear the damage being done, but yes proper technique= no nodules for Jon
