📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

Pulling the painter's tape off is always the most satisfying part! And, as planned, the door all but disappears when closed, letting the stone and hemp walls be the star of the show!

I was taught that when pushing in grout and removing excess, you should move the float diagonally to the direction of the tiles. That way you don’t run the risk of removing too much in any one direction. Just FYI.

Having been a finisher for at least 25 years and skimmed a lot of walls . I can tell you if you go in 2 different directions every coat, meaning top to bottom and left to right you will get a much smoother surface, much faster.
