Walmart Boot Review - Walmart is not known for their high quality footwear but how bad is it really? I bought their cheapest rain boots (duck boots) to cut in half to start off the Duck Boot Mini Series. I like to cut apart really cheap products to show why its important to buy things that decent quality to help you save your money and to hopefully prevent more fast fashion garbage ending up in landfills. Yes I see the irony of wasting a product by cutting it in half but hopefully this style of video will help prevent more waste by informing consumers and be overall net positive!

I just launched my Black Friday Sale 20% off everything on my site. It's the only sale I do all year! Thanks for all your guy support! bit.ly/2HEda5O

If all you got is 30 and need shoes/boot.. I'd hit up a thrift store. Probably find better for less.

I remember being so poor I couldn't afford good work boots. Now I have an office job and I don't need good work boots because I sit in front of a computer all day. If you told me back then that a good boot would cost "only 80 dollars more" I would have looked at you like you had two heads. 80 dollars more would have been like double the money I didn't have. Anyway, you're not wrong, and I should have tried to save up more for better stuff that didn't wear out so fast, because I'm sure I spent that $80 two or three times over replacing crappy boots, but it's amazing how the perspective is different when you have a little more breathing room in the budget.

I was surprised you cut the shoelaces and threw them away. That was the most useful part of the boot. LOL

Colour: cognac and navy. That's easy marketing right there, because brown and blue doesn't sell it.

Footwear, clothing and every day items of this qaulity are just a waste of materials

The fact that boots like these exist is why I thrift shop.

To quote Harvey Birdman: "made of an unidentified, but undeniably cheap material."

I was walking thru Walmart one day and in a sales cart I saw some shoes on sale for a dollar, original ten dollars, so I bought a pair just to wear them when I go out to make a quick stop at a convenient store or get gas or something I don't want to ruin my good shoes. They lasted two weeks and what's sad is that those shoes was not worth a dollar let alone ten so I need to stop that habit of when I see a sale not to fall for it! 😭

you're better off spending $30 at a thrift store on some used nicer boots than buying "new" cheap boots

I worked making Bean Boots (And Maine Hunting shoes, which are slightly different) in the Brunswick factory, so I'll be happy to see them cut in half on the channel! The machine that molds the bottoms is truly a Willy Wonka beast, and after that it's an incredible suite of hand skills to make the rest, including just finishing the bottoms. And the coolest part is they can be re-bottomed once, and minor repairs can be made to the uppers in-factory.

When your mom cannot spend on expensive boots you have to be grateful for what she gets you even if it's Walmart shoes thanks mom

That mini finger loop is a thing that is typical of women’s fast fashion items. Another example of non-functional fashion are tiny (or non-existent) pockets. Welcome to being a woman.

4:19 Dude! Never ever EVER cut TOWARD your hand with a sharp object. NEVER!!!
  • @shawnbottom4769
Those look like they’re made in the same factory where they make the all the terrible Halloween costumes.
  • I bought the womens version of these with the fur at the top. I got a good 3 or 4 wears out of them and then the heel felt like it was hollow and would squeak everytime I walked 😂😂😂

The reality of the environmental and social impact was the best part of breaking it down. Thanks Wes

When I first started my current job, I had to go with a pair of steel toed work boots from Walmart since it was all I could afford. Never again. They didn't last 3 months and made my feet hurt so badly I could barely walk by the end of the night.

I can’t believe those exist at all, let alone cost more than $10
