Here is footage of a 49' Skater catamaran with twin 1150HP Torque Engineering V12 engines being tested on Mercury Marine's Lake X in central Florida. The time is July of 1998. It is a 46' Skater race hull with a 3' swim platform. Two 859 cubic inch EFI V12 engines driving through Mercury 6 outdrives. Top speed in the testing was about 140 mph. This boat was built as a demonstrator to show what the Torque Engineering V12's could do.

Pay no attention to the website shown at the end of the video. Torque Engineering went bankrupt in 2002.

  • @Andy Harman - yes, thank you for the correction. I get names mixed up sometimes - Charles Lindbergh and the P-38. I couldn't remember where I typed the wrong name.

I worked at the place in Elkhart that built these engines. Does Dick streffling still own any of these boats.
