Scotland releases prisoners early to relieve packed jails

Gotta release the criminals to make room for all those people making mean tweets.

Makes sense as they need the cell space for all the SNP politicians.

My B.I.L. was released early and lasted 10 weeks. He's a violent offender and now back in prison for breaching the terms of his licence conditions. He has been given nothing to help him on the outside. Within weeks of release he was fighting in bars, taking drugs and drinking heavily. Prisoners need compulsory courses whilst in prison and a rehabilitation programme, not volunteering. He is still not on any courses or programmes. The problem won't go away if offenders are not helped and taught how to create a good life on the outside. Some people that continously break the law and can't stay out of prison is because they simply don't know any other way of living. It would cost the government far less if they employed life coaches to teach these men and women new ways to live their lives.

Unbelievable! 🤦 Will those that are allowing them out early, take FULL responsibility for any harm to the pubic or their property???? 12 months from now it should be made pubic knowledge... If the jails are over crowded that's because the sentences are to weak .. 🙄 Has Common sense been killed off in this country?? I think so 😠

no, not true, they can't hold all of them due to the shear level of comfort and luxury they offer to each prisoner, and the staff too are lavishly awarded. Its because they believe it has to be a heavily publicly funded role, and they are not prepared to entertain alternative options, such as free-range tagged and satellite surveiled prisoners dropped off on a remote island prisoners, instead they want each one to get a personalised £60k banquet
