I feel that even Dooku would have to at least call a ceasefire for a day with how much the Jedi suffered. He would likely even wish to be present for a mass burial, at least for the first bombing.

Ironically, if that had happened, Palpatine might have lost. One of the major parts of Palpatine's plan was counting on the arrogance and ridge nature of the Jedi High Council. The Jedi replacing the High Council, which would likely include Anakin, would self-reflect on one of their own doing some an act. (The irony is not lost for Anakin doing such a thing). The new Jedi Council would be more amendable to negotiation to end the war. Also, they would not make any rash actions from such a weakened state. So, a coup set-up is unlikely to be pulled off by Palpatine. Dooku could end up being the big winner in this. He could expose Palpatine as his Sith Lord Master to the public, with evidence, as a play to force a seize fire. The Jedi will not immediately act on this, but the Senators might jump at this. Meaning Palpatine would be forced to either disappear, or order the Clones to attack the Senate and Jedi, which looks even worse for him.
