Kris being hurt by her husband leaving her, changing a big part of his identity, and pursuing a new direction in life that doesn't involve Kris or their family is also valid. I think everyone is missing the point that Caitlyn said horrible things about Kris in the Vanity Fair article which showed why they weren't around enough to be invited to the graduation. It wasn't the transition itself.

Kris handled this so amazingly, Caitlin needs to think of it from kris’s point of view too , she lost the person she married , she lost her husband, her children’s father in a way , it’s like a death , that person is gone as Bruce becomes Caitlin , no matter what you spent over 20 years with someone and then they are not in your life anymore the way you are used to it’s gonna hurt
