  • Square has a real bad habit of ending some of their best titles on mobile for no other reason other than money. It's actually upsetting. Still burnt about Mobius ff
  • @Chrillbill
Can't wait to throw down my life savings on pulling an endless amount of 1-star Pascal pieces

This is a great message to gamers everywhere and i will definitely keep it in mind. I spent nearly $300 on Union Cross, but I don’t regret it cuz ive been a Kingdom Hearts fan since I was 11, and Im 23 now. So I’ll definitely be playing Missing Link, but now as an adult I’ll have to be more mindful since a good chunk of my money has to go towards college, bills and food lmao

The problem with buying physical, at least in my experience over the last decade-ish, is that the only difference is that I now have to have a disc inserted to play a game that still has to he downloaded anyway. So if they remove access to the download, then the disc becomes useless as well. If games were released physically the way the way they were in PS2 and PS3 days where the whole game is on the disc, then I'd probably never buy digital except for a few exceptions. I hate that game preservation is ignored so much. Fortunately, at least for PS3, I can still access what few digital games I purchased on it even though the store closed quite some time ago. Nintendo doesn't care about that at all. It's deeply saddening.

Remember kids, spending is an option not an obligation and it's true that the game may not be around too long but we don't know so just do what you feel is right for you and enjoy the game

Got introduced to gacha with Genshin Impact. I absolutely love playing it to this day on my PS5. And you really don't need to spend money or have to grind for the story quests. The entry bar for that content is pretty low so everybody can enjoy it. Same with Honkai: Star Rail, another Hoyoverse game. Then came FFVII: Ever Crisis by Square Enix and oh boy, this is exactly the type of hell you think of before trying any gacha games. It's everything wrong with the genre - endless grinding, popups every few minutes reminding you to spend money for all the problems to go away, everything's RNG to drag out grinding even more. And the requirements for the main story content can get pretty wild too, so you have to partake in all the BS to get to the good stuff. With Hoyoverse games I'm glad to spend some money every now and again, not because I need to, but because I want to support the company that has given me so much excellent entertainment for free. With Ever Crisis, I'm at a point where I hope it dies soon so I can put it behind me. And no, I will never spend a dime on that pile of crap. So yeah, I hope Missing Link is more like Hoyoverse's titles, but after Ever Crisis my optimism is waning.
  • Mobile games getting shut down constantly makes me glad I stay free to play. I should spend the money on real pins in the real world for these characters that I can put on my backpack
  • @timgroskopf5069
I'm excited for the story for sure. But I'm not to excited for the gotcha draws. I played the Japanese version of unchained even when it changed to X. And now I have nothing to show for it.

Good on you for pointing this out and bringing this to light. I spent quite an amount of money on Union Cross myself, and at least benefitted from it by having my player avatar’s name appear in KH3. But could I do it again with Square’s rep of taking games down quickly? 😬😬
  • They need to have this on console, it'd be more successful if it's on PC and consoles too
  • @xedwr
Im glad i watched this because before i clicked on this video i was ready to swipe that card for a gacha game this helped me realize i need to save for missing link
  • @Cryyfuu
Spent a pretty gross amount on Reincarnation a few months ago. Was laying in bed browsing the banners available at the time and the FOMO got me.. and this is my first time hearing about the game shutting down. Pretty wild that can just happened and you're SOL lol. Good video though and good on you for looking out for people.
  • @chiruki
The moral of this vid is if you want to spend money in the game that’s more than fine but just be responsible about it
  • @jarotheboar8398
Honestly its best to wait til the game comes, and wait for someone to put cutscenes in a video Mobile games are like the keys in the Keyblade Graveyard, so many of them, so little has lasted long... if they do it right, then the game continues, however i doubt it, cus this is Disney and Square Enix Another dead key in the Graveyard
  • @_Cetarial
If the game dies, which wouldn’t surprise me, I’ll just look up the cutscenes/a synopsis on Youtube.
  • @coolz123123
What I’ve learned from KH UX is that I need to wait 6 months or to a year … then spend $10 to buy the newest medals and strongest stuff and just complete the game using those medals. I might need to spend another extra dollar here or there, but maximum maybe $20 and not $1,000
  • @RagnorokKing
THANK YOU! I have seen so many fans of Squeenix just completely ignore the terrible business decisions the company has been making over the last few years and you're one of the first fans I've seen actually express any sort of concern and trepidation at newer titles ( especially mobile) thank you for actually taking a moment and telling other people to be at least just a little bit cautious. Also, a little psa, absolutely shit on SE, they recently released a statement saying they're doubling down on their bad business practices( NFTs and AI generated projects were both mentioned) if fans don't hold them to higher standards, who will in my opinion.
  • @linkyssj2
Prices and then they cut the game.. not again.
  • @gruggyo
I’m gald you’re mentioning this dude, they just recently done this to dragon quest tact, I’m in a dragon quest group on Facebook and half of them were players on it, they really upset about it as well.
