If you add 12 more you can make a wonderfully easy job for computers, because 64 is a power of 2. In the meantime, you can possibly use the 14 extra bits for brightness or color or something I guess

Try making a 19 segment display (based on the 15 segment X O) Basically, adding 2 vertical lines from the original 13 is 15 segments, then adding 2 horizontal lines, cutting a segment on the middle left and middle right is 19 :)
