  • Everything in Eggman’s dog being super expensive and hard to find is extremely in character
  • @rocketsummer
i like the implication that sonic has carefully crafted and perfected his own signature chili recipe in his free time
  • @RedBoi1337
Silver definitely seems like the kind of guy to enjoy coleslaw
  • @lm10363
Man no wonder sonic got mad energy he got ground coffee in his chili
  • “I made every Sonic Chili Dog ever” orders a Chili Dog from Sonic
  • @RobinRhombus2
Silver's chili dog being a watered down version of Sonic's just feels way too accurate. Edit: Also Big's dog being strange but somehow really working is also on point.

for anyone who needs to make substitutions: regular garlic is NOT a substitute for black garlic. Black garlic is mild with a sweet fermented taste. Reduced balsamic vinegar makes a better substitution. Kewpie is not a "special Japanese mayo" either, you can find it at most grocery stores that have an international aisle now, but if you can't find it just use Duke's with a punch of sugar. Kewpie is just a soy-based mayo with a light sweet element.

Yo! I used to work at Sonic. Here's how the chilidogs are made! We have a little metal tub we put the chili in (pre packaged) and we set it on the grill with the burgers. When someone orders a Chili Cheese Coney (Chili dog) we throw the specified bun into the cardboard part. We take a hotdog from the roller (Which is a rolling grill for hotdogs and other round foods) and throw it in the bun. We add the chili on top of the dog, a good sprinkle of shredded cheese from the salad station, and steam it in a little steamer. (It's like a flat toaster.) We wrap it in the wrapping with a fork, and send it out!! IF you decide to go back, order with extra cheese on the bottom and grilled onions. :)
  • The more i think about it, the more frustratingly hilarious & totally fitting it is for Eggman's recipe to be the most expensive one of all. Because, like... it's Eggman. Of COURSE he would require (what is, at least, in his own sort of billionaire-esque cartoonish way) the best of the best. 😅😹🍳🌭🦔💎✨
  • two things i appreciate here: it's absolutely just from them expanding on the whole "sonic loves chili dogs" thing but the archie version of sonic at this stage feels so much younger than current modern sonic in vibes that it almost feels like Chili Dog A La Sonic is just meant to be easy to make (one pan dish to boot!) and over time sonic just started getting really into it (official cookbook recipe). the second is that i'm pretty sure the newer version of the chili has caffeine content due to the coffee
  • @blusterkong1996
I've done the Archie recipe before, and I used no-sugar-added bbq sauce, and I also used a combination of bell and jalapeño peppers, and it was one of the best hot dogs I've ever eaten in my life
  • @SpoonAtNoon
In Silver’s defense, it seems like you added a whole lot of Coslaw to the chili dog, less of it could have been a whole lot more balance (similar to how you see it depicted in the book)
  • @banobobot
That’s the sign of a dedicated Sonic fan
  • @wyv3rn1
there's something really amusing about the official sonic chili recipe being actually really legit. I'm really impressed ngl
  • @Sonic10122
I bought the Sonic cookbook specifically to try to the chili dog, and it's quite honestly fantastic. I've only tried the plain Perfect Chili Dog, but it's legitimately the best chili I've ever had. The cinnamon and the coffee just add a surprising kick to it. I tried a few more recipes, and honestly shout out to Blaze's Worlds Collide cookies. As a connoisseur of chocolate chip cookies, they are extremely delicious.
  • That cookbook is fantastic. Besides the chili recipe, I've also made Vector's Pizza bread and Eggman's cookie recipe, all good stuff, you should make another video trying more of the recipes in the book, I think it would be super fun
  • @anonshrimp8299
"Its a bit bougie" Would not expect anything less from an eggman recipe.
