This Barnaby guy is like an interdimentional being and can go to diferente realitys, which explains the welcome home and hat in time paintings

Barnaby is a ghost owl who owns this mansion and uses it for party’s with other ghosts. He can also travel into different dimensions which explains the paintings.😊

As someone who was raised loving musicals (and not just Disney) and who got into video games seriously college onward, this is such a promising game to me. I can see this as a rhythm game, great storytelling, and so much more. I would be the kind of person to replay a boss battle just to hear the song again even if I own the soundtrack. It's really nice to see something somewhat familiar in play style but so thinking outside the box in concept.

If you want a game similar to this gameplay style, I would LOVE to see a No Straight Roads series on your channel. The game is some platforming combat sections leading to a boss that sends their attacks to the beat of the music (which the music is absolutely amazing). One of the bosses, DJ Subatomic Supernova, their voice actor is going to voice a character in Billie Bust Up and is how I found out about the game in the first place.

The paintings are all references to other series. I think the lore is that Barnaby can travel through dimensions or something

Barnaby is an owl,he died and has trauma, i learned this from watching the shorts in their channel. Also he doesn't know dieing/killing is bad. For him it is good to die.. He does not understand why it is bad. There is actually a youtube short in their channel and he was crying.. The short was called something like "I cry but I don't know why.." soo he cries but doesn't know why he does cry.. It is probably the trauma he got when he was still alive..

I absolutely love the artstyle of this game, it makes me think of A Hat in Time a LOT. And there's a ton of details in this game that supports this thinking

i think that Barnaby can go to different dimensuins/world ... that's why you see the pictures with different characters like the one from Welcome Home and Far-Fetched(a series by Ashley Niochols) etc... also Barnaby has cartoon logic! also also its an owl!

Man, any great indie projects are truly extraordinary. Also, the Welcome Home crossover, is something what I didn't expect from our main boss, Barnaby, to meet out of all universal meetups from those picture frames in his manor. (Despite how I haven't gotten into the ARG yet :sad:) Billy (the playable character), has suffered so much running, haha
