Growing up with Aurora is the best thing that ever happened to me

There was an older man on the train this morning with his headphones on, a big smile and sobbing gently. Tears ran down his face. He pulled his phone out to press replay and it was this song he was listening to.

Girl I'm still not over 'Conflict of the Mind' or 'Your Blood' :face-turquoise-covering-eyes::face-blue-heart-eyes:

I don't know how Aurora's song can make me feel sad and happy at the same time.
  • @tadnauseum
46 yr old man has now twice been brought to quiet, glimmering, withheld tears by this young person he will never meet.
  • @lasAlasdeNatsumi
I wish she never runs out of things to say... but if there comes a time she does, I hope she knows how much some of us cherish her voice. It's helped me heal in many occasions so thank you Aurora. From the bottom of my heart, truly.
  • @mannelossi
Your songs help me to breathe when I'm overwhelmed by life.
  • @beeatrixzz
I don't know why but this song makes me want to run at full speed barefoot in the forest

I see a lot of reactors are not totally understanding the lyrics. Maybe it's a bit deep. However, the first line in the video is Key to every other word in the song. "Hit me hard where I am soft" as she holds her hand over her Heart. Building "some type of skin" can be a way of getting through the hurt and blows to the Heart. She has even said herself (and I'm not quoting) when you "learn" to accept the good and the bad, there is a certain beauty in not being consumed by it all and you can free your mind and soul. And My God, it's a lot!

TRANSCENDENT is not enough to describe this. Also, that small run at 2:13 is PERFECTION.
  • My dog just died suddenly. I found him on the ground, and my skin flayed off then and there. I’ll be raw and devastated for who knows how long. I’ll build some type of skin, but not now. Not yet. I have to bleed first.

Hit me hard where I am soft Should my heart reveal itself to be More than a muscle Or a fist covered in blood However much it feels to bleed It's only temporary We're good people and we both deserve peace (Peace) My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) (I've got to build some type of skin) My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) (I've got to build some type of skin) I guess I should build some type of skin And let breath bе air And love the things I know might disappear And thе last light of the sun (Sun) I let it slow me down I'll crawl where everybody runs We're good people And we deserve peace It's difficult, it seems My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) (I've got to build some type of skin) My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) My God! (I've got to build some type of skin) My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) (I've got to build some type of skin) My God! It's a lot (I build some type of skin) My God! My God! (I've got to build some type of skin) It's a lot It's a lot My God! It's a lot It's a lot, a lot to me To me

the fact that this came out during the spring equinox makes so much sense, because this song IS the spring equinox
  • @juliepavlak
I found this song yesterday at night. It felt like a punch in my stomach at first, cause it's too relatable. I cried. I cried for the first time in weeks. It was the ugliest cry ever. Gasping for air, choking on my tears, screaming, rocking myself back and forth. And then I calmed down, I felt liberated and was able to sleep for 9h - for the first time since January. This song is a whole ass therapy.

I discovered her 4 years ago and became a mega fan instantly. 2 years ago I was very depressed. After work, I would dim lights, light candles, lay in bed, and put on one of her longer interviews or livestreams. Mixtape Memoirs was a big one, I easily listened to that 20 times in full lol. Her voice is perfect ASMR...but she's also supremely wise and kind. And an extreme introvert, like me. But an example of an introvert thriving in the world. I can't afford therapy. But Aurora became my own version of therapy. Honestly, if I think too deeply about the impact she's had on my life, and the comfort and hope she's given me over these 4 years, it will literally make me cry...
