I'd be interested to know if one of these could be fashioned to only mute certain strings, like the bass E-A-D strings for example, so one could play the blues like Robert Johnson before mastering the palm mute.. I understand there are capos that are string specific. Nice video, great work Tom. All the Best!

Some folks have had good luck with tennis racket vibration dampeners. Even the string slots line up for many guitars.

Interesting video, I personally liked the sound of the fingerpicking with the mute at the bridge.....I may have to invest in this...

I could definitely see using it on an electric played thru a modulation pedal. It already had a slight ring mod sound to it. But chorused, or delayed, or to make a ring mod even weirder? Seems ideal for that. Especially in a studio situation or where you’re looking for inspiration.

To my ears, it sounds at its best with the nylons/classical guitar. Very useful. Thanks for the video.

I had never heard of a rubber bridge or this little doohickey. Fun! I like the muted fingerpicked sound.

...i think maybe a 'chip clip' with some felt or maybe something to replace the foam....maybe egg carton material in the chip clip. probably make that for under $5 with what you have in the house. Edit- the 1st guitar made me think "that's what it would sound like in an anechoic chamber"
