Gardevoir was the first 3-stage evolution psychic type that didn't require a gimmick to evolve. It was balanced without being overpowered and had a focus on special attack which paired nicely with its psychic typing. You could catch a Ralts early on and because none of the starters had secondary psychic typing, the Ralts would provide type coverage and naturally become a core team member. Of course this pokemon was going to be good from a gameplay experience perspective. From a design perspective, Gardevoir is beautiful without becoming sexual and totally avoids the problems that later generations have with humanoid pokemon designs - namely that they look like dudes in a furry suit.

He's got the Midas touch, except everything he touches is lewded.

The best part, at least to me, is the “hey watch this.” Like, Ross is just turning making Jacob do depressing tricks for his amusement. He’s done this before.

Hypothesis: You aren't cursed, your taste simply represents the internet median. You like what most people like, so naturally, what you like is also what gets picked up for smut and dirty memes. It's not a curse, it's simple statistics.

It's one of those things you just have to get over; from experience, I can say that the internet doesn't need an excuse. It doesn't have to be feminine, or or even humanoid, for people to do it dirty. They're insatiable, and you just need to be able to separate those aspects of the subject from each other.

Let's be fair, the internet sexualizes a lot of things. Alpharad's favorites just happened to be the more popular ones.

I feel your pain man. I loved Vaporeon growing up because I found out that I could make a really busted build by giving it leftovers and aqua ring, and EV training it split between def and SPDf. I used to have so much fun when my friends just couldn't kill it no matter what in battles. Now I have to just hope to god people don't go on the internet enough to know the horrors when I talk about that story.

I had a very similar experience. My favorite character in the pokemon anime is Misty, but I found out a few years ago that the writers of the original anime literally only made her a main character to be eye candy for little boys, and I wanted to scream

I feel like the little animation of jacob trying to think when jaiden asks him who his favorite storytime animator is isn't getting enough attention its such a small detail but it's so funny 😭
