If you struggle with chip shots and pitch shots around the green it's because you have a chipping and pitching technique that is either too complicated or your trying to use the same technique for all your short game shots.

In this golf video Danny Maude explains the difference between chipping and pitching and shows you exactly what short game technique to use and when to use it.

Here's what you are going to learn

1. How you set-up to chipping and pitching is crucial for consistent strikes.
2. Learn how to have a tension free golf swing
3. Use a chipping technique for chipping but a pitching technique for pitching

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  • I’ve been playing golf for 40 years, but am learning so much from Danny, brilliant!
  • @twinnett1714
I can't believe how easy this was to do, it gives you so much confidence, I can now focus on where I want the ball to go, rather worrying about making the shot, thanks Danny.
  • I've been struggling with my short game for DECADES, and I've tried tons of changes in the past to no avail. I just employed these tips yesterday on the course and saw a substantial improvement! Now I just need to get to the range and commit them to muscle memory... If my pitching/chipping continues on the new path I just started, then my overall scores will vastly improve, along with my love for the game. Thanks for breaking it down so simply, Danny! This was the first video of yours I've seen, but you earned a new subscriber with it.

Another great video but my comment here is a general one and this is that you, Danny Maude, have improved my golf game. The quality of my swing and the results I’m getting since I started to watch and incorporate your videos has improved. I guess everyone learns in different ways, but the way you explain and demonstrate the various techniques required to play well (and thus enjoy the game more) really works for me. Thank you for what you do.
  • @MpenziYako
Correct! This is a fantastic video as was the one with Pete Cowan - has improved my pitching enormously. Making these videos lessons every week must involve A lot of work for which we are most grateful thanks again. Mark
  • When I was in my teens, I naturally was able to hit pitching shots within 100 yards consistently without any instruction. It was easily the strongest part of my game. When I hit my twenties, one summer I suddenly got the yips between 20-100 yards and to this day I still haven't fully shaken them. The information and tips you've shared have really helped me diagnose my pitching and the things I am doing wrong out of fear to compensate.Watching you hit those pitch shots, while explaining the rythm and shoulder positioning, brought back memories of the satisfying feeling you get after hitting a clean, effortless pitch shot without even thinking twice about it! Thank you!
  • @Willie-t5409
Yes, yes, yes! Loved the videos you did with Pete on greenside work. I love that you identified that you were using all the shots here with the 56* wedge. I have settled on the 54* for this work and use much of what you are discussing here to rehearse the shots. I am fortunate enough to have "zones" in my yard "and my neighbors'" to hit to that allow for designated distances. Hence, I am able to know how much momentum I need to have with the wedge to get the ball to drop, roll and stop. The lead and trail arm drills are the bomb and help coordinate a true fluid feel to the swing. Have had a number of fellow players of late talk about how fluid my pitch swing is and there is nothing like that clean, crisp sound of the ball coming off the face of the club flying to the target and coming to a stop at "kick-in" distance from the pin. Great lesson as always....
  • I've been watching your videos for several years. I love your approach to instruction of a very difficult game. I also remember from your original video with Mr. Cowens that in the course of the pitch shot telling yourself that "you're just messing about." Let the club fall, pressure down, get the body out of the way, and you're just messing about. Somehow, that message relaxes the body and the mind if you're just 'messing about.' Thanks Danny!
  • @totomaster9841
You are the greatest host around on YouTube!! The way you explain things to us is just so good and learns us so much in an understandable yet professional way! Keep it up!
  • @wesstelzer89
Hey Danny! Just wanted to give you a massive thanks! You have completely changed my chipping and pitching this year. It has even translated to my putter. My short game confidence is sky high and has never been better. The concept of "letting the club drop" and having some rhythm and pop to the swing, like a throw or toss, has been a game changer for me. You have a great way of explaining and simplifying things. I have 4 chip ins this year! After only having 1 for decades! Keep the great videos coming!
  • @Narenrocks8
Any golfers who learn golf from YouTube! This is a 1000$ lesson or program! This will set your swing in right and easy way! Thanks a ton Danny !
  • Danny! You are an amazing teacher, lucid & generous in sharing everything without holding back... you will become one of the best known golf teachers of our life time.. thank you once again
  • This video has been a game changer for me, that 30 -80 yard distance has been a real struggle for me but not anymore. Thank-You Danny! Off to search for a driver video now.
  • @AlanYoung2882
Hi Danny, my pitching has been poor lately so, as always, I took your advice about getting the left shoulder out of the way. It felt really positive and I realised that I would get a much better strike right through the bag if I used this tip. So, I took it to the course as my swing thought for the day and struck the ball much better from driver through to wedge. Brilliant. Still lost my match, but a definite improvement. It's no surprise to me that your now World No 1 golf instructor online. IMHO, the GOAT!
  • @rgill1869
Excellent drill Danny, thanks for helping us average golfers improve
  • @PhilA-xr8nh
Great stuff Danny. I've tried it and it works. You manage to convey the key principles in a practical and straightforward way. You're inspirational.
  • I really love your golf tips. I am a high handicap golfer and want to improve my game . I found that I take your tips to the driving range and that reinforces what your teaching . Thanks so much
  • @Pricey0711
Id never played before until a month ago when I went with some lads from work. Really enjoyed it brought some clubs and started watching Danny's videos and they've shaved nearly 40 strokes off my first score to what is now a respectable round already. Thank you so much
  • I love the way you describe the feel. Like you are giving the club some some rhythm and how you are getting good contact. I will try to put this into contact, the energy is there.
  • I first saw another video by Danny with the same technique a few months ago and have been using it since then. It really works and my mates have commented on it a few times when we've played. A really nice and good looking technique to learn. I always use this. Thanks Danny!
