Trachycarpus Fortunei Palm Update 🌴🌴🌴

Published 2024-06-30
These are the trachycarpus palms that were separated from each other in spring that had their roots interlocking.
The palms went into shock as expected and struggled to keep the growth going and trying to develop new palm fronds was asking too much.
Cut your palms back, which is unfortunate but necessary to keep them alive and get stronger in their roots.
Eventually they will get their roots settled and they will grow new spears.
Winter will be a big test. These palms will be planted down in the wood, so there's no rush in getting them into the ground. Their going to stay in pots for quite a while.

My new 7 gallon trachy I planted this year in April spear pulled and I don't know why? The fronds shrank and dried, but it stayed green. And the spear that was opening up closed back up. I pulled on it today and popped out and the spear that was coming too did the same thing. What happened for the palm to do that?
