Wizards and Warriors starts a new animated alternative history documentary series focusing on the Mongol Invasion of Europe and asking What if the Mongols invaded Europe. In our scenario, Ogedei Khan doesn't die in 1241, which allows the Mongols to retain their unity and continue their incursions into Europe and Middle East. In 1245, the Mongols under the leadership of Batu Khan invade central Europe leading to the intense battles in medieval Bohemia. At the battle of Olomouc in 1246, the allied armies of the Holy Roman Empire attempted to stop the Mongol invasion (   • What if the Mongols Attacked Central ...  ). The defeat here didn't stop the Mongols who were now full of wrath. And although the Europeans were now preparing a Crusade, this wrath will bring them to Bohemia and the siege of Prague will make things even worse (   • What if the Mongols Attacked Bohemia ...  ). At the same time, a group of Mongols led by Batu Khan moved south to attack Italy and sacked Rome (   • What if the Mongols Sacked Rome? - Al...  ). To the north the armies of Subotai and Kadan were invading Germany and moving towards France, leading to the battles of Lubeck and Fulda Gap against the alliance created by Emperor Wenceslaus and King of France Louis IX. We at Kings and Generals hope that you will enjoy this video!

As a Norwegian I am truly happy to see Haakon IV. This guy brought Norway to the hight of our power and it's pretty fitting that he gets to be the one to lead the attack against Subutai

Vikings vs Mongols, The deaths of Louis IX, Subotai, and Kedan, and the Mongol raze of Germany, the series keeps building intensity in every installment! Can't wait to see how it ends! Glory to the Tengri and the algorithm!
  • Hi there everyone! As usual I (writer and animator for this series) will be more than happy to respond to all of your questions and look forward to your comments. A lot of work went into every piece of this story and I hope you enjoy this wild ride. Remember, this is not just about telling a fictional storyline, but using an alternate reality to learn more about the characters, geogropraphy, tactics, economy of our very own reality.
  • Mongols: "Imagine a king who would fight his own battles. Wouldn't that be a sight?" Louis IX: " allow me to introduce myself"
  • Please release these more often! This is the most detailed alternate history series I have ever seen.
  • Louis IX: I Fart in your general direction, Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Mongols: visible confusion

The norse saving lubek was brilliant, and the axe throw that killed subotai was just hilarious, saviors from the north.
  • @somewhere6
With the growing attrition of the core Mongol forces, I am not convinced they would have continued to operate separately. The conditions that favoured them the best was a large open field battle in which their unity, command structure, basic tactics and the homogeneity of their army would give them distinct advantages.

We all have to give a shout out to the formidable Malay archer. He’s the one animating these battles and using the game engines in order to make these incredible documentaries for us cheers to him may we enjoy more of his work for many more years to come.
  • @daddyGbaby
This could honestly be a game of thrones level series. Great job! Can't wait for the next one.
  • @steve8610
THIS WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! Seriously, immense props to whoever it was that wrote and directed this. It wasn't just entertaining, it had such a fascinating practicality and realism to it that many alternative historical scenarios tend to lack, even down to portraying bits of information being lost or unknown or even just rumor.
  • @AmNotHere911
The description of theoretical Scandanavian intervention on behalf Lubeck in this theoretical Mongol invasion of western europe really does have a Tolkienesque 'Gondor answers the call' feel to it.
  • @resileaf9501
Friggin' amazing! This series gets better with each episode, and it's still not over! I can't wait to see what happens next! The Crusaders won in two critical engagements, but their leader has been slain in battle. Will the coalition stand after this? Will the Mongols manage to take advantage of Louis' fall? Will the crusaders unite and fight as one to honor his sacrifice and avenge the destruction of Rome? England hasn't gotten a role in this story yet, will they fight alongside their Christian brothers, or will the temptation of taking advantage of the Mongols' advance to deal a decisive blow against France lead them to ally with the nomadic horde, or will they trust in the English channel's protection to isolate them from the conflict entirely?
  • Ohh, shocking events lads. Nice work in putting this together; lots of blood, sweat, tears and love goes into this, I can tell!
  • Wow what an amazing episode! Crusader Knights, Viking Warriors, the evil Mongols - this series has it all! Can’t wait for the rest of the story… who will end the Eastern Threat once and for all…stay tuned!
  • @amogus901
Just imagine if Louis IX. survived the battle and then learned about fall of Rome. He would probably destroy the entire Mongol horde with his fury alone😂
