Who’s ready for an INSANE three-way Nissan GT-R drag race?!

Mat’s pulled together three different GT-Rs which have been tuned to different levels, and he wants to find out just how much performance you get depending on how much you spend upgrading your car.

Of course, Mat’s chosen the most powerful one for himself. It’s had an engine rebuild so you’ll now find a 4.1-litre V6 under the bonnet which produces an astronomic 1,600hp & 1630Nm of torque!! All-in-all, around £100,000 was spent on these upgrades.

Alongside him, we have a GT-R that’s had £35,000 of upgrades added to it. These include adding hybrid turbos and strengthening the gearbox, and as a result, the car now kicks out 1,000hp & 1,150Nm.

Then finally we have the most basic car here. It’s had an ECU remap, along with new intakes & exhausts added to it. Thanks to that, it now puts down 650hp (100hp more than the standard car) along with 840Nm.

So the result may be a foregone conclusion, but will the 1,600hp GT-R prove its worth?! There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

03:50 "3.5 inches that isn't going to please anybody is it?" Mat Watson, 2021 🤦‍♂

1600hp is impressive, but 1000hp tuned 6 years ago and 50,000kms is way more impressive
  • @Adam-nv9zo
I think the fact that the 1000hp build has lasted so long is pretty impressive

Matt, that 1600 is outrageous. I felt the wind inside that beast

In all the years I've watched Carwow, I've never seen Mat make a facial expression like he did in the 1600 😳
  • @ujjpeet
The fact that the most powerful car broke proves how big the stress is the powertrain must absorb during full acceleration from 0. No matter what car, this can cause lot of harm
  • @culilom007
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the 1600hp gtr won, the 1000hp went second and lastly the 650hp.

I love how this channel respects and uses GT-R's and Turbo S as a metric

Omg its so powerful even that turn signal lever behind steering wheel are shaking at 5:21
  • @James-semaJ
That was great. It's videos like this that remind that Brian owed Dom a 10 second car. Which car in fast and furious was actually a 10 second 1/4 mile lol.
  • @garytsuikk
So the key take away is you don't need a 1650hp GtR because it breaks down in no time. A well built 1000hp one will be ok but that is also a hit or miss. A 650hp with minimal butchering to the car is probably your best bet to have fun. Got it. 😅
  • Haha, hearing Mat still screaming outside the car, is brilliant!! Well done editor!
  • @unenglishable
whoever edited this one did a banger job. come here for the no nonsense drag racing, and got treated to some nice bits that end of video fakeout and the gtr cologne, nice touches
