The beautiful hollow body guitar Eric Clapton is playing is a 1948 Gibson L-5P. In 2011 he put up for auction 70 of his guitars and the proceeds went to the Crossroads Center in Antigua. This rehabilitation center was founded by Eric Clapton in 1998.The auction raised over $2 million and the star of the show was the Gibson that he’s playing in this video. It went for a cool $83,000...

We all should be so very thankful that God spared this man's life and did not allow rejection, drugs and sorrow take him from us early on. What a great musician and ambassador of the blues and a great humanitarian!
  • I really am so happy he introduces his band first!!! They are all so,talented!!

I’m dedicating this to my dear brother who passed away 3 weeks ago. I played this in the hospital after his severe stroke 5 years ago when he couldn’t talk. But he sang this song out loud and beautifully. The nurse came in and said how incredible it was. We’d walk around the floor and he’d sing this loud and clear. I also played it while holding his hand when he was leaving this world, 3 weeks ago. Thank you, Mr Clapton for the most beautiful version of this song. I hope my brother heard it.
  • He played with the Beatles , Stones, BB King, Cream and an also great solo career. How blessed we are to have slow hand in our lives. Thank you Mr Clapton for making memories.

Clapton, a cultural icon, a life of tragedy, a man of integrity, a leader in the resistance to tyranny and a personal lifelong hero.
  • After watching many many live performances of Clapton, one thing you can notice - the guys who play with him seem extremely happy. I wish that to everyone. Can't see that anywhere else

Nothing this man can't play or sing, such a talent and we're so blessed he's still on this Earth with us. ❤

I think, the best part of this video was, when at the beginning Eric Clapton, recognized all the other musicians in the band. What a Class Act... Young musicians should watch, and learn from one of the Best!

Not just because I love Clapton, but think about it folks, how many artists could pull off a Judy Garland classic, adapt it to this blues style, with the legendary guitar and vocals and make it a hit.

OK. From a musician's stand point there's a lot you can say about Clapton. High's and Low's of course as we all have had. But one thing he gets that's lacking in some of today's music. He knows how much less is more. When you play the right notes, you don't have to play nearly as many of them and people will listen to you much longer than they will someone constantly trying to impress you with those wonderful (they think) calisthenics they have worked out on the guitar. Some of you will understand perfectly what I just said, others will not. But then, that's the way of the world these days. Everyone has their own reality. And many think theirs is the only reality. And for them, I suppose it is. And I'm sure there are quite a few who don't really like Clapton, but then, a LOT of us do!

For all the torment that man has gone through, he remains a class act, an extremely talented musician, and a great humanitarian. I pray he has found peace because of what he suffered and eventually gave the world.
