  • This is great for my history outside the Bible studies and I homeschool so this is awesome
  • Great overview and thanks for making it interesting and memorable.
  • Make sure to look for my playlist on the Roman Empire, you can learn about many other Roman Emperors! Who is your favorite one to learn about?
  • I used to watch the History Channel when I was and kid and I used to believe that Nero burned the city for the sake of burning the city. That was until I took the class. Now I rather watch this lectures than whatever documentary the History Channel has.

Vespasian is said to have been exiled to the provinces for falling asleep during one of Nero's performances. Lucky for Him.

Marcus Aurelius was known for his remarkably progressive ideas during his time, which are evident in these selected quotes that highlight his captivating persona. According to Marcus Aurelius, anything that happens naturally in Nature is inherently destined to occur, such that “It is but Nature's way; and in the ways of Nature there is no evil to be found." In another of his viewpoints, Marcus Aurelius espoused that leading a virtuous life is the most superior path, due to his strong convictions. “If there are no gods, at least you lived a virtues life.” In regarding death, Aurelius states, “if nothing else, death is a constant reminder of the fragility of death” and “belief then that death is not the "end". We don't know what it is, therefore, some of us fear it.” Lastly, a quote very applicable to today’s time is to, “Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.”
