Canonically the first time Samus ran into Ridley as an adult she froze, full PTSD attack, but then she got passed that and fought him in Zero Mission, Prime 1-3, and finally put him down in Super Metroid. The PTSD attack in Other M makes no sense.

One thing y’all need to understand, is that Samus’ Power Suit may seem technological, it is organic. It is literally, physically a part of Samus, hence why portions of her suit need to be surgically removed. Think of her Power Suit as an exoskeleton that provides protection to her from external forces, one that she can essentially summon at will.
