Beryl lashes Texas, bringing high winds, heavy rain and flooding

Beryl hit the coast of Texas as a Category 1 storm with high winds and waves. It caused major flooding as it moved inland as a tropical storm. Strong wind gusts caused trees to fall and knocked out power for more than a million people. NBC News' Kathy Park and Bill Karins report.

  • Here from Houston Texas, this did more damage to Apt complex where I live than Harvey Did! Families left with lots of damage! Help your neighbors in need of help and help one Another no power since 5a.m. this Monday morning! I been up Since 2a.m. Prayers to Houston residents!

    We’d just like to have utilities in Houston. It goes out with the least bit of wind. We’ve been without electricity for days at a time TWICE in one month! What happened to Centerpoint?

    Heard updates from family in Houston and Victoria today. Yes, fences blown down. No water in their houses .No damage to their houses. Everyone fine. Family in Oklahoma checked in. Just rain for them.
