  • The man from Earth was the movie. He didn't invite his friends, he was trying to leave town before they noticed he wasn't aging. Remarkable movie, worth a watch no matter your religion. Best part is it all takes place in roughly one room.

My favorite plot twist to the holy grail story is that the last supper was held in a rented room. So they either stole a cup from their Airbnb or they brought their own flatware to a catered dinner.
  • I'm currently employed as an archeologist for the National Institute Of Pre-Modern Antiquities. We actually found it years ago, Simon, it was in Belgium until recently. I've been working on the translation for the past 17 months and it turns out it was all a misunderstanding regarding The Holy Braille. It says "Wet Paint"

I love how proud Simon looks whenever he actually gets a movie reference.
  • Not sure I've ever heard Simon thank Nadine for her excellent editing skills... Thank you, Nadine, for your awesome work!
  • @RHCole
The holy grail was really the friends we made along the way.
  • @sniperblast
I’d love a Decoding video on the Turin Shroud. It’s got quite a history to it.
  • It makes me so happy to realize what this actually is. Decoding the Unknown: EPIC BLAZE EDITION!! Fantastic!
  • @Intabih
When the grail shows up on antique roadshow because it has been in someone's attic for two thousand years, you'll feel pretty silly Simon!
  • @SLorraineE
I love Ilsa's scripts. They are usually more mythological episodes and I love seeing all the "evidence" and then systematically debunking all of that with actual history
  • Finishes complementing himself on how smart he is for solving a mystery in a novel (which usually foreshadows, giving clues to readers the characters don't recieve), then completely overlooks the subject centered in "The Last Supper" painting
  • @insane_troll
The real holey grail is a Pastafarian relic. It is the colander used to cook the first pasta, which was then eaten with cheeses. (Praise cheeses!)

I seen the documentary on the holy grail... Seems the Castle of Anthrax has a grail shaped beacon, and the Bridge Troll wants you to answer him these questions 3. Don't forget the Knights who say Nee.... but now they are the known as the Knights who now say.. "Ikky, ikky, petang, woo, wa, woo, woo."

You should do one on the Ethiopian belief that the Arc of the Covenant is in Axum.

Hello Simon and Crew, I know a large part of the videos you make is dependent on what your writers want to write about, but I'd really like to see a Decoding The Unknown episode surrounding the theories about Kurt Cobain and his supposedly suspicious death. I think that would be a really interesting topic to hear your takes on.
  • Simon, you've literally done a video on the Cathars 😂 The Albigensian Crusade. I was so excited when I came across it because not many people know about it. Don't ruin that by saying you've forgotten it!
  • @chasebob8327
i like how Simon's ramblings have their own soundtrack
  • @adalavin8648
This is my favourite podcast so far Simon. Please don't ever stop. You had me laughing so hard yet I learned things I never knew about the grail. If it there is a real one or not.
  • @willowmoon7
Simon's wild sarcastic skepticism is even funnier if you consider he went to Christian school
