I listen to the excellent British History Podcast. The podcast has been available for a few years and we’ve learned about Roman and Anglo Saxon rulers and have just reached the time of William the Conqueror.

Excellent and interesting documentary. Yet there's one mistake. Empress Matilda's son who became King in 1154 is Henry II not Henry III.

This period is the hardest in history for me to wrap my head around. I literally should not exist. I'm a genetic paradox. Scottish 20%, Norwegian 16%, German 15%, Irish 15%, English 14%, Sweedish/Danish 12%, Welsh 5%, French 3%, Finnish 1%

My Rains family line fought in the battle of Hastings. Was given a seat and title somewhere for their contribution to the win.

A very good and informative video. Typical British. With lots of sarcasm.
  • Rich history my family was de Brionne in Normandy then became de Clare.
  • Did I hear "Henry the Third" as Eleanor of Aquitane's husband? It was Henry the Second.
  • @NorvelCooksey
My great great great way back grandfather was 1st cuz to William the first . Probably I am just one of a million that can say that.
  • @carynfisher9463
Wow. What a way to paint Eleanor of Aquitaine as little more than a power-hungry tart instead of the intelligent, bold, capable woman she was.
