Jason Vong goes over his own personal reasons why he will be getting the new Sony 14mm F/1.8 G Master. The 14GM now takes the crown as the lightest, fastest, widest Full Frame camera lens in Sony's line up that can autofocus! Jason goes through a list of choices of ultrawide angle lenses and gives his take on each compared to the 14mm for his own personal use cases especially against his beloved ZEISS Batis 2.8/18 which has been his favorite for the last several years. I went with the 14 GM. My 16-35 GM is sometimes too slow for what I need and the 12-24 G was even slower. When I did use the 12-24 G I seemed to use 14 more than 12 and if I needed less wider than 14, I would just go back to the 16-35. Having a smaller, faster, lighter, and closer focusing lens in my bag replaced the 12-24 G for me.

Liked the video for sure, I dig the more casual feel, its like we are hanging out and your telling me about the lens. Any thoughts on how well the sun shade protects the lens optics? I always stress about scratching my lenses. Do you feel concerned with this one?

Loved the video. I think the extreme wideness of 14 creates a lot of peripheral movement with even a little hand movement when you record videos that could be distracting
