Marjorie Taylor Greene booed by Republicans after Speaker vote

Published 2024-05-09
The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday (May 8) swiftly defeated an effort by firebrand Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene to remove fellow Republican Speaker Mike Johnson from his leadership role.

Democrats joined Republicans in a 359-43 vote to protect Johnson's speakership, in a bid to avoid a replay of the chaos that occurred in October when Republicans ousted his predecessor, Kevin McCarthy.

Earlier, standing flanked by fellow Republican Thomas Massie, Greene criticized Johnson for a string of compromises with Democrats, who hold a majority in the Senate.

I did love watching MTG get put in her place. They finally told her to shut up.

Her disjointed "whereas" resolution sounded like it was written by a high school shop student...no disrespect for shop students, though!

It is the job of the Republicans and Democrats is to WORK TOGETHER for the best interest of the Americans. Not to cause chaos and put party before the Constitution, America and her People. The agreement or cooperation of two political parties that usually oppose each other's policies is called bipartisan. BTW, why is doing something good for our allies is bad thing for the MAGAs, when someday we may need our allies to help us during our time of need? So don't forget the GOP won the House on the promise to combat inflation and high gas prices, but they HAVEN'T done anything to honor their promise to the American People, so I won't be voting for any of them. Since, doing nothing while complaining and blaming others as they turn the House into a circus, only work on the weak minded.

God forbid Congress work TOGETHER for the benefit of the American people and not just the fringe element of ONE party.
