Swedish dish towels instead of paper towels - do your errands in one day to save gas- steam mop instead of swiffers- bulk dog food - zero water filter - shop at Aldi !

I already use most of these. My coworkers thought I was nuts when I started using the reusable bags. I also love the fact that I'm reducing what goes into the landfill.

Instead of buying reusable sandwiche bags, I reuse the containers from the lunch meat. The Hillshire farms are perfect - clear container, red lid ( my favorite color) and a sandwich fits it perfectly. It’s my version of the Cool Whip leftover container 😉

Used to buy and chop my own vegetables. Now I buy frozen chopped veggies. Doesn't cost any more than buying fresh and chopping them yourself. Plus you can use a small portion for a recipe- and the rest remains fresh in the freezer.

I have a wonderful idea, not my original idea, but I’ve used it and find it wonderful! I bought a bulk bag of garlic, run it through my food processor, I bought a small cookie scoop, scoop the garlic out onto a cookie sheet. I do the same thing with ginger. Freeze these “pucks” on a cookie sheet and then put them into labeled bag. Double bag it to ensure it’s not stinking up your freezer.

I buy sandwich meats from time to time and save the packing bowl. They nest for easy storage. When they look bad, I toss them. Free Tupperware...😁

I use various Norwex and E-cloth cleaning cloths for cleaning my home. You just need water. I've been using them for years.

I bought a bento box for my work lunches a few months ago and it’s been the best thing ever! I don’t use reusable bags any more and I take soda stream bottles with water in them to work as well

We buy the ziplock freezer bags and wash and reuse those, chair than reusable ones, a box lasts about 6 months. Even though they aren't meant to be reusable, they hold up well to being handwashed and I can reuse the same bag at least 6x, sometimes a lot more, depending on what I store in it.

Here are two that most people know about but I mention them for those who don't. Reusable cloth dish towels instead of paper towels and cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers. Also buying a good portable fan (I like Vornado) and/or space heater can save lots of money on heating/AC bills.

There is a $1 plastic drain-snake-thing at the dollar tree that is actually pretty effective. Not as good as the real thing, I’m sure, but I can use it a few times a year to keep drains clear before they get clogged then I don’t need a fancier one 👍

Vacuum sealer! Especially as a single dweller it's been a huge way to reduce food waste. Especially for ingredients I don't use often. Just vacuumed and froze shredded red cabbage for future (cooked) dishes instead of wasting 3/4 of a head of lettuce for one or two meals this week

I came of age in late 60's. Very organic + earth friendly ever since 1st Earth Day 1970 despite living in cities, suburbs, town's. Ive learned ways to re-use things. I know it saves 💰 . Yet my goal over 52years was to not damage our earth...... this video aligns w/my hope 4 the Earth + now we all need 2 save money. Thanks Rachael. A set of rims for your winter tires. This can save you $60-$80-$100 per seasonal change, so twice that per year. My tire place charges $0 for switching the tires out if one set was bought through them (or is a set they sell), as long as the tires are already mounted on their own set of rims. It's been well worth it for us to just buy an extra set of (used) rims and keep both sets mounted.

I received a Breville Express Espresso machine for Christmas one year from my wife, it was about $500 then. I work from home and make a latte daily for less than $1. I know it’s a lot of money up front but, it’s convenient and it would cost me at least $7 to purchase the same drink from out. I’ve had the machine for 2 years now and have made back my original purchase price.

We use glass container with lids instead of throw away containers and baggies: yes it just saves.

When I buy groceries that use paper bags I use those paper bags for my garbage and recycling 😅 I don’t go out and buy garbage bags like that since I just use paper grocery bags and get multiples of them
