BIG TIP: that procrastination bull crap you used to be able to pull off in highschool , yeah cut that habit cuz it leads to failures and sleep deprivation

💀 my first day my teachers gave us the syllabus. we went over it for 10-15 mins and then they said “open your textbooks to page 20” and began to lecture.

I’m honestly abt to get lost and be that person that sits through an entire class w/o knowing that it’s not even my right class

Huge tip: Pls dont try to do too much your first year(Play a sport, take 6 classes, join 3 clubs, party every week etc) you will get tired, you will slack on everything and you will want to drop out. Alot of students get caught up in the ‘rush’ of the first year of college and end up so burned out by the end that they drop out, as an advisor its sad to see so please keep your activities to a minimum!! Join a club if you want, play a sport if you like it, but please dont try and do it all.

I’m going to be a sophomore next year. What I hate the most is the whole “stand up and tell us your name, major, hometown, and a fact about yourself” like HELL no, mind your business.

Big tip: Get a study group! And group chat going with as many people as possible. It’s gonna help so you have more options for gathering information

The part about general cafeterias having the best food when the parents are still around is def true for my school. we'd all get so excited when there were tours or parents weekend cuz they stepped up the game

I also found during my first week of college that classes held on the ideal days and at the ideal times are booked out very quick. During my first semester, I was left with a schedule that had a 6 hour gap between classes on one day and I had thought that this was the worst thing. But this time gap because extremely useful to work on assignments, to study and do required readings before classes. So it was a blessing in disguise! My advice is that whatever schedule that you end up with for the semester (ideal or not), make the most of it!
