The Sunshot Hunter Bow is amazing for ONE REASON... The fact that it's the only Purple OR Legendary Hunter Bow that still has regular Hunter Arrows! This makes it a great option for conserving resources when taking on small, weak machines or when hunting wildlife. I always have one in my post game loadout for this very reason.

great job, dude! nice breakdown 😄 I still think the Emperor's Reign is my go-to over the TLG, but you're right.. at that point in the game, they're all pretty good options

Very useful guide. There are many bows in this game and I don't know what to choose. Thank you!
  • @skins4thewin
Worth noting that when using anything involving Knockdowns, you ALWAYS want to shoot the foe in the legs! This increases the Knockdown effect by a huge margin! It's actually an amazingly powerful strat that the best players use often! You'll see the very best Arena players constantly doing this.

Thanks for the video, new player here from the PC launch!

It might have been smart to mention that you can buy the whisper bow for less than you can sell it. It is one of the earliest shard farms, and beats hunting for animal skins Also, not mentioning the Sun Sourge is doing a massive disservice to the weapon. It is the best weapon in the game for elemental buildup, which is absurdly good if you look at the competition. Because of your focus on damage and tear, it wasn't mentioned. I'd say that hunter bows are best for two things. Tear and Elemental buildup. Their impact damage shouldn't be the focus, because other weapons just deal more. No other weapon can trigger canisters quite as easily as hunter bows due to their accuracy, and abundance of elemental ammo. The first useful hunterbow is your first green bow. Other green bows don't offer a lot of improvement and it is better to quickly buy a blue rarity weapon instead if you do want to get a different hunter bow. The blue Frost bow should be the second hunter bow you get, because it'll be the first weapon to allow you to use frost aka the best element. If you were to buy a weapon to increase damage output it is better to go for a sharpshot instead. The Sun Touched hunter bow is the third hunter bow you'd want, because it offers the tear that the frost bow doesn't. It is cheap and very useful. I'd say that the Seeker Hunter Bow is THE BEST purple/very rare bow. Because, again, frost. The Advanced frost ammo is the best way to buildup frost, by far. Only surpassed by the Sun Sourge. And the tear value of the bow is nothing to scoff at either. If you coil the weapon with concentration or overdraw, both the tear and buildup will be boosted. This makes up for any weaknesses the weapon has. I'd say there are only 5 coils I'd use on hunter bows. 1. Concentration 2. Overdraw 3. agility/Component tear. Honorable mentions would be: Tear, elemental coil. It is best to specialize your weapon instead of using mulitple types. You wouldn't want to concentrate, be on high ground and at close range at the same time to deal damage. That is just more effort than it is worth. If you want the weapon to knockdown enemies, go full elite knockdown. The base knockdown value of hunter bow shots is too low to have one coil make a difference. Having a draw speed coil is nice, but using an overdraw coil will help you a lot more. Your sunshot hunter bow has a 40% drawspeed perk built in. Using a drawspeed coil on to is overkill and doens't offer a significant boost at that point. You should coil to the weapon's strength. Not their weaknesses. The weapon doesn't have a low amount of impact damage for no reason. You shouldn't use it for damage. You don't see people using full draw speed on a sharpshot bow. It is meant to draw slow, but deal a lot of damage. This philosofy is the same for hunter bows. Use it for what it does best. Buildup elements and Tear off components. The video looked good, but I just can't agree with the weapon/coil choises you've made

Comparing within their Rarity Tier is not an good idea because it is not practical. The Problem with the Strongbow and Whisper Hunter Bow is, the competition are the Rare (blue) Hunter Bows, and not the other Uncommon (green). Same goes for the Berserker and Pyre Hunter Bow, it needs to be compared the other Very Rare (purple) Hunter Bows that late into the game. The Problem to ignore elemental side, makes the the Hybrid Bow look at lot weaker. Also you left out that the Strongarm and the Vanguard HB draws slower then their counterpart (I suspect it was planned to have weapon more diveres within the group like Oseram = Double String = Slower = Higher Overdraw). So for a more Practical List, if you want to choose only one: Starting Hunter Bow performs well enough, and Acid can be very helpful early game (less damage reduction from Armor, double base crit chance). Blue on Slicing Hunter Bow (easier to Upprade). Purple: Seeker, due Frost and ADv. Frost Arrows Legendary: In a vacuum, Tears of the Landgods, but NG+ can be far away for some. So the Questions is, do you want to spend Arena Medals for Death Seeker? Do you want to spend Brimshine in the Burning Shores for the Emperor Reign or do you want to wait for NG+ for the TotLG. Sun-Touched Hunter Bow is great though, but to get the most value out of it, players need to know how to get it to upgrade Level 3 in the Plainsong/No man Land Area. For that ones needs to be Lucky with the Valuable chests or with the Cargo Container of the 2 Shell-Walkers ( 1x Salvage Quest, 1x Cauldron) and ugrade one of the greens fully and sell it for the Bellowback Sackwebbing (have to look up which one it was). The Salvage Shell-Walker can be farmed, if you haven´t done the quest yet. Do not kill it, and only shoot the cargo container off and loot it, run away, rinse and repeat. Drawback is, you can´t progress the questline till you have want you want, and you need to do that for the Drill Horns (Also Salvage Quest) or sacrifice one of the non buyable quest weapon. Maybe that´s an video idea for you? Getting the Sun-touched Bow Hunter Bow as early as possible and to upgrade Level 3.

Honestly, the Sun Touched Hunter Bow is SO good that it can easily carry you to the end came if you wanted! Just load it up w Crit Chance coils & watch the damage fly!
  • @cygnusx7
This video has the wrong focus imo. The main jobs of hunter bows are Tear Damage and Elemental Build-up. Igniting elemental canister explosions is a hugely powerful mechanic and is by far most easily done with hunter bows. For impact damage there are much better alternatives.
  • @Zetler
The Sunshot Hunter bow is affected by the horrible Rollerback salavage bug even today.
  • @skins4thewin
Lol the Emperor's Reign is so freaking strong! It's a damn shame they nerfed the Death Seeker Shadow so badly tho or it'd be just as good! They not only reduced It's power by 20, they also reduced It's Crit Chance perk by 10% and it's Crit Damage perk by 15%. That pissed me off SO BAD when they did that!! Seriously, I just don't understand why they did that. As is it pales in comparison to the other two Legendary Hunter Bows, aside for it's Shock Arrows which are admittedly the best in the game. The weapon honestly makes the Lightning Hunter Bow you get from the Telana quest completely obsolete & not worth bothering with, specially considering how early you can get the Death Seeker Shadow.
  • @johnpen269
man im 20h in the game still using the first hunter bow i got
  • @earlbond2929
Hunter bows should focus on draw speed, tear & component tear for coils! 😁😁😁

Marshall vs Seeker: MH weapon coil: %45 + perks %35 (Burn damage not inc) = %75 so...... MH =80 base dmg + %87.5 = 149.6 SH: weapon coil %75 (close range dmg) + perks %55 (KD not inc) +=130 so.... SH base dmg 66+ %130 = 151.0 So does it worth it? u get only 2 damage more if you keep playing within 10 meters with the enemy all the time... 2 dmg doesnt worth the pain at all!!. but if you get an enemy knocked downed so plus 26.4 dmg= 171 in the best case scenario SH = 171dmg tops........................ and if you have a burning enemy Mh becomes : 171 too. Conclusion: actually i was using Seeker hunter before i calculate this.I was hoping an extreme difference if you get close to the enemy. But there is not. i wasnt expecting this results. so now i go to dukka right now and buy marshall immediately. end of the story Marshall owns seeker hunter like MCgregor vs Nate Diaz
  • Hi top hunter gliding tooth where can i find such a machine????? I've been destroying the machines for several hours now, but it's nowhere.
  • @user-qy2yv5pi9k
And the sunshot: İf we consider %100 draw speed equals X2 dmg = it is 170.2 All the time. and if it is a bird it iis 188.7 and that bird is corroding 207 dmg plus the luxury and the joy playing with a fast bow withoul all those interruptions... Sunshot is Khabib of ufc. on the other hand forgefall has %40 speed and i see no difference with other long range bows
  • @skins4thewin
That's actually not true about Component Tear 25% being unique to Tears of the Land God. There is a Blue Hunter Bow that has it as well. Not a big deal, just sayin'.
