REST IN POWER VIRGIL

Virgil's impact on changing how T-shirts could be a luxury item and even his vision and creativity were really why he was so influential in the Fashion Industry.

This was taken from 2 interviews and the tips he gave on how "LESS IS MORE" impacted me. I tend to have a bunch of ideas and creative processes all the time and him saying that gave me something to reflect on and get better at my creative side.

“life is so short you can’t waste a day” hit different

Mans with the “mhmm” sent me 😅
  • That guy should start a new brand called "mhhm" I think it'd be dope.

My favorite part is the analogy about the candle and the room it sits in. The perspective Virgil brings is so High level
  • Man..... Rest in peace to the legend he showed us you can turn a streetwear brand into a full Italian luxury brand and that the underdog can be creative director for Louis Vuitton this man is the definition of goals

    R.I.P Virgil, huge inspiration.
  • Virgil was such a pioneer in the fashion industry when it wasn’t a lot of new ideas circulating.
  • “Life is so short that you can’t waste even a day subscribing to what someone thinks you can do, versus knowing what you can do.”

I understand what he means by the switch in your head. I've been stumbling around in the dark looking for that switch for years. Finally found it. As a designer myself, everything finally just clicked. I was working on a concept one day and had a solid idea/representation for it. Then I realized there was another deeper concept within it and it was a whole other brand of its own. And then again, and again. And out of working on just one concept I've developed 5 solid brands. Feel's amazing.
  • Virgil was and still is such an inspiration! I’m so sad that I just discovered him and his work after he passed😔 I want to be a future designer and would have loved to meet him. Long Live Virgil ❤️❤️❤️

I missed him. I used to listen to his interview and conference while he spoke about art and design. He was not like any rapper/ hiphop/ stylist who had some fame then try to put a label on things and sell. He actually had an art vision and it was a genius one. He communicates art like a tech or an scientist talks about engineering, concise, clear and make senses.
  • 1:16-- it really is and he is proof of this, but look how much he accomplished in his relatively short life span! Inspiring...
