I think it makes sense, but no source ever says this. - "Kukku-Sensei" is never used in-universe as far as I know and is a nickname sometimes used by japanese players, especially in the older generations.

Iceborne Garuga was probably one of the best glow ups ever. I absolutely love the fight. It's chaotic. It's stressful. And finally it is fun.
  • @TheGraveKnight
The idea of Deadeyes being Garugas with Napoleon Complexes is both really funny and really ridiculous and I love it
  • @CrownofMischief
Yian Garuga is the answer to a question no one asked: What if Honey Badgers were birds?
  • @BobThePenguin.
Oceaniz lore hunters: "this monster is/was incredibly strong and literally impossible to defeat without help from outside forces. It moved so fast we couldnt keep track of it, one attack turned a hunter into mush. I watched it burn, freeze, electrocute, and dragonify a man in the most gruesome death ive ever seen." Player characters: "I just killed god while naked using a pair of dango sticks." Oceaniz lore hunters: "what in the f-" Player characters: "in five minutes."

Got to say, that "Black Wolf" incident legit sounds like a horror story. Those young hunters were sent on what was suppose to be go on a a relatively easy/medium challenge hunt and gain valuable hunting experience, but instead they died a brutal and horrid death due to mistaking a Garuga for a Kut-ku.

Kind of ironic that the most common threat to human settlements is not the terrifying King of the Sky that is Rathalos, the embodiment of absolute power that is Tigrex or even elder dragons, but the "lowly" Yian Kut-Ku. I also didn't know about their shrieks being so loud - it never seems to bother Hunters, as it doesn't make them flinch or produce the air-disrupting effect that louder roars do. I suspect those cries keep ordinary folk up at night during the Kut-Ku breeding season, though. Also, it's an interesting note that Kut-Ku Scales are the only carve-able monster part you can also get from gathering spots - in the Forest & Hills/Verdant Hills, that is.

Yian Garuga are the embodiment of "I don't want peace,I want problems"
  • @derigel9783
Kut Ku taught me how to actualy hunt way back when I first played Freedom Unite. It was brutal but nessessary. And even later in high rank, when you have way better gear, he can still beat you up for good, teaching that every monster must be handled carefully and with respect.
  • @typhoonzach2102
I love the idea of a weak beginner enemy “coming back” later in the game as an absolute terror and I think yian garuga and kut ku are perfect examples of that
  • @RobsDHyrule
Time to see and learn about the chicken monsters ecology!
  • @1998topornik
Yian Garuga makes Earth's hippos look like peacefull creatures.
  • @whiteninji352
I love these two. Kut-Ku is so quirky and adorable and Garuga one has a really cool theme, and I also like how it’s one of very few bird wyverns that”s a significant threat (and challenge). Loved this one
  • @CozilyComfy
I love this ecology series so much. The main reason I like monster hunter so much are the monsters themselves so having a video where all of their data is not only avalible but presented in such a great way is so incredible.
  • I love the details about 2nd named monster, they are just so incredibly cool with their strong personality and extreme power
  • @Castle_Games
I thought garugas were hybrids of rathian and yian kut-ku.
  • Yian Kut-Ku's been off the bench since GenX. I hope they find a place to bring it back in the next gen of games. He's got a whole new generation of hunters to charm after all.
