Jojo3000 was once RuneScape's biggest influencer. Over his multi-year career he lured hundreds of players into the Wilderness and stole billions worth of party hats and other rare items. Today I discuss how Jagex made him disappear from RuneScape forever.

  • We all fell for it mainly because we were 10, not because of how good he was at luring
  • @Sehxpert
It’s weird how lurers used to be almost looked up to. People like jojo didn’t help the situation when others see their riches
  • @CrumbRS
Gotta do a story on blocks at some point, from respected YouTuber with 200m all skills to scamming his audience through loan staking when OSRS came out
  • @Kwrt
Died this way for a Santa hat when I was 11. I Called my dad crying while he was at work. It wasn’t Jojo that did it but a guy name “Peter Or”. crazy how 17 years later I still remember the guys name.
  • @SensationEye
That lowbie army casting air strike was crazy lmao
  • @Ellada0427
I actually remember this guy back when I was a noob, I was standing in Varrock west bank when he came and traded me showing a bunch of party hats and me thinking I would get them for free. At the time I had no idea who it was but was funny when I eventually stumbled upon his videos 😅
  • @basicguy99
Wow I forgot Jojo. Lures were so common, I remember my buddy losing full Addy (g) to the poison tribesmen behind Brimhaven house portal because the guy who brought you there would trade you over and over without ever actually accepting for the antipoison (and yes we tried to do it to others after that, we were 13). I could write an encyclopedia of all these old scams.
  • @Seshidao
Gotta admit, this was the one and ONLY lure I ever fell for back in the day 🤣Not that it was worth much to most but to me it was the world since I saved up for it - lost a dragon mask + full saradomin armor. Funnily enough when I was running back to Varrock I ran into the same lurer standing next to his buddy all I remember was begging for my stuff back like dumb a noob. Much to my surprise the lurer trades me only my rune hatchet back. I learned a big lesson that day. Never trust anyone taking you to the wildy that fat stack of gold is always too good to be true. Great vid thnx for sharing with us gave me flash backs to the old days

Honestly, Jagex old attitude was better. Thieving is a skill in-game. Make the game immersive. Better first to get scammed in osrs, and learn how to not. Over getting IRL scammed, when osrs might have helped.
  • @osrs-guide
This reminded me of the first time I was lured in '06. I still don't trust players in ghostly robes.
  • @Ooshton
The biggest scam I fell for was after grinding my 11 year old booty off for a full black set and scim, then having someone say they could trim it gold, so I traded them the set… never saw that armour again 😭
  • @Kyle-iz2le
Bind (freeze for 5 seconds) and Snare (freeze for 10) also existed back then and required far lower magic levels to use.
  • @FlyinRaptorJesus
My friends an I lured in edgeville. There used to be a rock wall that blocked you from going to the monistary from the rune plate seller forcing you to go into the wilderness to get to the monistary. We used that lol
  • @NexGenHiphop20
I definitely fell for that wildy freeze lure back when I was 10 🤣
  • @wrs900
Did this too back in the day but pker in wildy dropped 10k where agreed then i just pretended to be dropping the cash stack. Other bit silly solo lure was at karamja where you ask person to help with video and go to tribesmans at brimhaven via ship from ardy. Trick was tribesman attacked if younwere low enough cb level and gave poison that hit something like 16 or such. I onoy tried these out of curioaity and never made bank. We did a vid of the jojo style of lure with the amazing unregistered hypercam 2. I think it wasnt against the rules at one poin since luring was so new thing. Cant remember since i was a kid back then but this brought back much memories from that era

A video on Mr bug would probably be pretty cool, he was huge early days of osrs, did a Christmas event with lots of donations for a giveaway and apparently disappeared, also stopped posting afterwards lol.
  • @jameshill5685
Everyone drop what you're doing Colonello dropped a new banger
  • @othala7540
to be fair the old days of runescape like that was just the spirit of runescape. Luring, tradings scams etc . Its isnt easy to scam it was also hard work lol
  • @S3lvah
It felt like being in a minority thinking lurers were scumbags back then. So many people had the kindergarten-level stunted morals of, "It's okay if you don't get caught."
