One reason Boogie faces so much condemnation is that critics intuitively know there’s one Boogie fan who is desperately poor, can’t make rent, car being repossessed, has a kid to feed—put his last $800 in this pump-and-dump as a “Hail Mary” trying to enter and exit the Ponzi scheme early with an upside— and ended up with $8. I have to remember that just because I would not be a victim, there are otherwise good people in bad situations who would.

The person I truly feel sorry for in this situation is his "gf." She's being emotionally manipulated and possibly abused that way too. I hope one day she sees the light and gets out of that situation. She certainly is young enough to do so.
