  • I had to scale back watching booktube because it stopped me from actually reading real books. I understand how time consuming and even obsessive it can become. Best wishes to you and your husband.

Hello Anne, I just found your channel. I am a professional artist. I just wanted to let you know that as an artist there are moments I love a piece dearly and I gave it my all...and it hasn't gained the traction I hoped. Then there are pieces that weren't my personal favorites and they are dearly loved by the masses. The point is create what you love. Art and life are both subjective. Follow your dreams and don't worry about the count. I can tell you the 50 people who enjoyed it got way more out of it than you realize. Enjoy what moves you. Stay true to you. Wishing you all good things.
  • Anne, Darn, I just discovered you this morning and browsed through some of your videos. awesome. I'm 80 years old and my wife and I watch several book tubers each morning-mostly Michael k Vaughn and Steve Donoghue. Sometimes CriminOlly but eliminated most. You're genre isn't what I mostly read but you have some good ideas and honest opinions- that's important. I discovered book tube by searching for ideas of good books to read a year ago. Lots of people will miss you . Hope you come back!
  • I will miss you Anne. You were certainly one of my favorites (not to make you feel badly about leaving but telling you how appreciated you were by one viewer). God bless and keep you.
  • Gosh, that's so sad to hear, I discovered your channel a few hours ago randomly while searching for books+creativity videos and binge watched on some of them. I really liked your mellow, sweet personality and reading taste. Hope you can come back soon. Best of luck in your real life endeavors. ❤
  • I'm really sorry to hear this, we will miss you. I'm glad you enjoyed doing this while you did.
  • @EntertheBook
Oh 😢 I literally teared up cause you are a favorite. And I tagged you next Tuesday and I’m not editing that out- just take it as love ❤ I won’t ever unsubscribe so feel free to mood post whenever just to check in- especially if you continue developing your own writing and medieval studies! You will be missed and I do totally get what you are saying. I went from 2-3 videos a week to averaging one a week and it makes me happy. We do what we need to do. Thanks for all you have done and sending lots of love. ❤️
  • Sorry to hear this. Hope everything goes well.... I always loved watching your videos and in particular your book reviews are just amazing. Honesty speaking you are the most finest mind I've ever seen. Stay healthy, Stay happy...😊
  • I've been here for six years, and I've seen how I will go through times of not watching any booktube for months and then binging a bunch and it can be very discouraging. But I've learned to see value in seeing my channel as more of a treasure chest of my own memories but it's hard to wire it away from affirmation. I've been a more occasional watcher but I've always liked listening to your thoughts and I hope if it feels right you will return. ❤
  • I’ll miss you and your videos. I hope everything in your life goes well and that your future endeavors bring you joy! 💕
  • I'm new to your channel and I love watching your content. I understand the reasons you gave as to why being on the booktube is challenging. Feeling pressure to comment and watch or the disillusionment of people who use to comment, but have just stopped, is a real fear. Taking a step back is always a great thing. Spending time to take care of your mental health plus deciding what new direction you want for your channel, is part of the process. Just know I for one will be here when you do return💕☺️
  • Totally understand sister! It’s tough to keep up! ❤ Blessings to you!
  • @Shellyish
I will really miss you, Anne. And I can see your point of view. ❤ Take care of yourself. Sending all the good vibes your way. 😊 If you ever return, I’ll be absolutely overjoyed.
  • I absolutely go through times of watching no Booktube or hardly any and then I feel bad that I’m not commenting. Sorry to hear you are leaving, I will miss your videos and your comments. I’ll look out for your Instagram posts to stay in touch. I hope all goes well with your life things, saving up for a house is hard. You are doing what is best for you and that is what is important. I can’t believe I’ve not seen your lovely creative Jane Austen vlog, I’ll be watching that now. Some of my absolute favourite videos are ones I’ve loved making and they’ve not done well but I’m happy I made them anyway. All the best, Anne, you will be missed. I hope it goes well with reading all of your TBR- I’m rooting for you! 💛

So sorry to see you go! I completely understand. It is definitely demanding and takes a lot more time than I anticipated before starting my channel.
  • @GlitterPoolParty
Thank you for the closure video. I agree that being part of this awesome community of readers, it's very tempting to get sucked in. I love to watch my favorite content providers, and I love to hear about books pitched that I will add to my TBR. As much as I feel close to my favorite content providers, I also know that they are really just "imaginary friends." I also realize that trying to read all the interesting books, I've put real life activities aside. While that might work well all winter long while the weather is cold and roads are icy, the lack of motivation beyond binge watching book tubers and trying to squeeze in of few actual books has taken over my summer activities and my flower gardens look like how I feel, unexercised. I haven't gone out to find friends in real life. Booktube, I realize has become my drug. I too, as a follower, need to find balance. A new video even just once a month among ALL the content providers, or even just a teaser video with a list of book recommendations or a poll or just a stats of your life balance in the description would be appreciated. You might consider setting up patreon account so that your followers can show their appreciation with a tip.
  • I came across your channel today while looking for reviews on David Copperfield. I loved your review, right on my alley! I will be looking for other postings from you and certainly will miss you. Now you touched a sensitive cord with your sawing addition as part of immersing yourself into the character’s life. I am an avid sewer and I get my inspiration from everything around me. But everything you said is true and you should take time in your life for what matters for you at that time. You should be very proud of this journey! Good luck with everything you will do in the future.
  • Sorry you are closing right when I started watching ! Youtube algorithm sucks and I tell from my past experience with a channel I almost abandoned after struggling to even elevate at 200 subscribers after three years of posting well edited and I say..interesting videos. YT recommending me channels I want nothing to do with, creators/ influencers trying to sale a brand or other. Whatever I post is not for YT anymore ..is just for me and 1 or 2 others. YT can make money from advertising on my videos, but it can help me grow. I love reading and many a times have no idea what I should read but I make a thorough research on the books I chose and care a lot for what sort of life those writers lead before I will open a book written by anyone. Congratulations on having and caring for a family! God bless you and help you save for a home!
  • So sorry to see you go. I've been on a booktube hiatus so I'm a little behind as I'm back today. Great points and I hope that it is a hiatus for you and to see you back xx
