FR7 Maiden

Since I started FPV, my goal was always to have a rig for different types of flying and situations with a focus on video. One rig I always wanted was a larger quad that could go further and capture great video with my dreams of flying it in the mountains out west. So I decided to give the FR7 a try.

It is the largest in my fleet at the moment. I am running FPVCycle's new special motors for 7". This test flight was on a 4s 1800mah battery. Very short flight lol. This was just getting a feel for the flight. The first thing that concerned me was recovery from a simple s-turn. I really had to get on the throttle to not hit the ground. I am not sure if that is because of my 4s vs. 6s battery or the nature of the CycleFPV motors. I did get a nice smooth transition when it did recover which I think Bob of CycleFPV always aims for in his motors.

My next setup might be even bigger and classified as a cinelifter but that will have to wait until late in the year. I would love to strap my GH3 or GH4 on my rig for some flights all in an effort to build my credibility for aerial video production.
