I have been experimenting with Charcoal / Pencil Sharpeners and have had limited success in finding a sharpener that can reliably and quickly sharpen a soft charcoal pencil, 4b and above. These are my thoughts on a few sharpeners I have used this past year.

    Have a Boston hand crank from my childhood. The only sharpener which gives me a long but durable point on my Prismacolors and no breakage. So glad I hung on to it.

    Nice video. I sharpen with knife and breaks alot.in the end it worn out two of my charcaol. I didnot know they could be dropped. Wasnot my fault then ^^

    Have you tried using a craft knife like an Xacto to sharpen charcoal pencils?

    Afmat is the way to go. Their manual sharpener works just as well as the electric.
