Even the visual language of an influencer standing on his viewers and looking down condescendingly at them is spot-on. Anime Boy is gonna dissect and display the tragedy of online culture so well. Edit: Just realized we're looking at him through glass. Just like, ya know, watching an influencer on your phone's glass screen. Edit edit: I think the chorus--and at least parts of the verses--are this influencer Porter is playing talking to himself. The "I'm in the mirror" line particularly seems to indicate this.

I love howe confident he has gotten with his voice. He went from rarely singing except backing vocals, to singing a lot more but with heavy distortion and effects, and now not caring at all singing with mostly just his voice.

The lyrics that really get me is the “Got a hundred million on my wrist, physically sick… I’m sorry can I get a pic? Telling me a sad story, another reason not to quit” and just the feeling of the person flexing their fame while it actually destroys them mentally and emotionally, and how they want to give up and go back to being a normal person but then they read all these comments or hear how their work saved ppl and they feel like they can’t give it up yet

The way I interpret "I'm in the mirror baby let it all out" is that we project ourselves onto the people we idolize and hes telling us to reflect on ourselves about it instead of putting it on them.
