Our skilled fabrication department shows from concept to creation, an illuminated aluminium composite sign tray manufacturing process, in-house at NE Plastics.

Step 1: Importing a CAD file onto ArtCAM software. Reversing the logo to fit in line with finished ACP (aluminium composite) tray.

Step 2: Loading the ACP 2440x1220 sheet onto the CNC router.

Step 3: Our CNC picks the right tool bit for the job and moves into position.

Step 4: After v-grooving the returns, the CNC begins to mill out the company letters and logo.

Step 5: By hand, the return folds are moved into position and then taped together to provide initial stability.

Step 6: Positioning Perspex acrylic to be glued later for illumination.

Step 7: Gluing aluminium angle.

Step 8: Moving the aluminium angle into the corners to strengthen the sign tray. Clamping down the angle to hold it in place.

Step 9: Inspecting the finished article.

Step 10: Our previously finished inner tray is ready with LED lights included, for display on our trade counter – the two are then fitted together.
