Your explanation at 27:30 is on point. Red Velvet understand and serves the songs (they don´t adjust the song to their style). They have not only the technique, but also the sensibility to adapt their tones and emotion to the service of any song. And by serving the song, they own it, no matter the style or genre. That's the misterious key to their endless versatility.
